    Wild West Shootout 2026?

Will they really have this again in 2026 at Vado? The stands have not had more than 200 people at each night and just seems too cold for it to ever grow.

Agreed, I dont know how this event ever makes any money and it looks painful to be out there in that cold at night.

It is a shame, because Royal Jones, who has done so much for all forms of dirt racing with his numerous sponsorships has built a tremendous, first class facility. The races are usually very entertaining and the track is a racey joint. If the temperatures were 30 degrees higher, the place would be packed. Vado is one of the few dirt tracks still on my bucket list to see a race some day.

I agree the place looks amazing. I bet the WoO Sprint race in April is gonna be awesome.

Is there any reason why they don't move this race to middle of February?

I think people are burnt out from Speedweeks by mid-February so it they did move it would have to be end of Feb.

It's a very nice track. Temps were abnormal this year, but they knew what the seasonal averages were before the first event was scheduled. It seems streaming masks over in person attendance these days. So, I could certainly see it carrying on. The purse isn't all that big. Normally, they would have already announced the dates for next year though...

                That makes sense.

Ben Shelton just posted on Facebook that this was his first year as being a “co-owner” of the Wild West Shootout.”
Maybe that’s why he was shoveling snow off the bleachers.
Anyone have any information on his co-ownership of this event??

I think I read somewhere where Matt Curl was part owner of the event also.

There were probably 400 people in the heated suites each night. You never see those people on TV. Sunday (there is a bar rail behind the top rail of seating) had a lot of people standing out of the wind. The parking lot was surprisingly fuller than I thought it would be Sunday.

its always been a back gate and streaming race, thats pretty obvious. Vado races really well for a bigger track though its ashame its so far out of the way

I’ve heard before that Vado was built off the same blueprint as West Plains and Magnolia. Does anybody know if this is true or false ?

Well, since I’m from East Central Illinois area that’s a hell of a hike to go to which is the reason I decided not to attend
