I think its too long without much if any benefit to the teams for travel. For years we started with speed weeks in February, went home and then kicked things off around mid late March, maybe even early April, then the series ended in October or early Nov. After that there were only a few scattered regional shows around Thanksgiving and that was it until New Years where there were a few more scattered regional specials again. These December/January events to me are needless and are taxing the fan and racer financially further than is healthy(financially). Florida regular speed weeks was already a big lo$er for most racers, but most sponsors desire an appearance down there by there driver/team. The people at the top arent listening anyway and like the housing crash lead up, nobody wants to admit we've gone too far until something breaks. I would rather see stronger regional tours with the occasional big event. When I started it was in between NDRA ending and Hav-A-Tampa getting started, all there was were regional tours and local tracks. If we wanted to see the big guys they were randomly spread around at whomever was having a 100 lap special at there track. It was always a treat to be surprised at who showed up, no internet, no driver FB page, you just looked in the "Racing News" for ads for $10K races and pointed the car in that direction after buying a map(no GPS)lol. I ramble, but yes I think we are spread too thin by racing too much.

I like racing as much as anyone, and I enjoy sitting in my Lazy Boy watching racing from The Dome, Vado, Volusia, etc. in the winter, but other than The Dome, look at the grandstands in January. The fans and race teams need some down time to regroup. Not one other sport goes year round. I find myself not interested in dirt late models so far this year. So maybe I'm finding it to long myself or I'm more interested in watching High-Limit Sprint cars or midget shows.Comment

I agree, I was excited at first Sheppy back with Rocket1. I'm curious to see how Troutman is going to do in the JR ride. Yes the bigger tracks have been painful to watch at times. I know if Eastbay was still going I would be tuned in. I'm not going to lie I'm ready for some High Limit racing. For the last couple months I've heard a lot of opinions from drivers about the season starting too early. The drivers have spoken. Obviously the series didn't listen.

I saw that and thought the same thing. The only way to send a message is for everyone stay home except those intending to run WoO and the locals.
