That extended break they took to update the site seemed to chase a few away.

Two things can be true at the same time.

The break from action that the site took was definitely one of those things.

The ho-hum nature of what dirt late model racing has developed themselves into is maybe another for some.

The Tailgate section as well used to be a vibrant meeting ground for off topic discussions on a wide variety of things and it is just polluted with spam clutter. Hardly anyone plays there in their spare time like before and there used to be some spirited back and forth discussions.

On other forums the mods are active contributors. Creating posts, responding to posts etc. usually more lower level mods who may only have minimal powers but they keep topics rolling around on the front page and it creates engagement.

Sadly, for big races 3 or 4 cars have real chance of winning, one of the attractions for me was watching locals at Eldora run with the top drivers and even win. John Lawhorn, Matt Miller, Shane Yoder, Steve Casebolt, Kent Robinson and on. Also the lack of any real chassis war is not good for the sport. Lets face it, Longhorns do not provide very good aero racing on big tracks. Look at winged sprints, the Knoxville, Attica and Pa posse still are a real threat to high limit or the WOO. Other than Josh Rice name me any locals that are a real threat to the 2 main traveling series.
