Not a fan of this at all. I expect this to trickle on down/out. If it succeeds, I could see WoO/Lucas adopting this. One to get a leg up on the other which will force the other to follow suit. Will only push the local/hobbist race out more.

How can this not be a good thing for the people that we all need to keep the national series successful......CAR OWNERS.
Its a bigger point fund = Helps owners, drivers and crew
Gives the owners, who stick hunderds of thousands of dollars a year into their operations (After spending much more to start them) some value for doing so.

The regional/local racer will still be able to compete at the National races in their area.

This has worked so well for NASCAR, how can it not do the same thing on down. Guarantee spots, bring in 'celebrity' motorsports drivers and completely ignore any time of success ladder system to make sure you have the top talent in your series. Maybe a good thing I am getting old and could fall over at any time, do not care to see where this is headed...

you give a racer more money for their program theyre just going to spend more money on getting faster, the revenue will be more but the income wont. This will only bridge the regional/national gap further. Flo does not care about weekly racers, they just use them to finance their projects like high limit and soon to be LOLLMDS im sure. Say what you want about XR AND WRG but they at least acknowledge there are racers besides national 410 and super drivers

If there's another meaning for the word franchise, I don't know what it is. The link doesn't explain what the term "franchise" means in this context. Are the winners gonna start their own racing series under the high limit banner like opening a mcdonalds?

It's not good for the sport because it only helps out 10 teams once you're locked in, you're locked in forever. So the same 10 teams get all of the money. They can add up to 5 more teams but thats a huge division! It'll be hard to stay competitive against teams that's guaranteed that money so it's just going to be a 10-15 car series. Nobody can compete with that. Its just another way to squeeze the little guy out IMO.

We really don't realize how good we had it 20yrs ago.

The problem with these kind of systems is it provides a built in perpetual advantage to the chosen few. National late models are already in the midst of the most top heavy boring racing I've ever seen. These type of schemes just push it further that direction. It's good in a way more $ comes into the sport but as mentioned above that $ only goes to a few teams.

If it comes to Lucas will a race like the North/South have 20 guaranteed spots for their series guys & the rest race for scraps. That's basically the nascar model these days.

So what are the perks of having a franchise, "guaranteed starting spots"? Maybe a more favorable pass thru tech? The franchisee's are gonna expect something in the way of special treatment beyond ca$h... I mean we can't have a franchisee not make the show, right!? If its anything like the Nascrap system, I'm completely opposed and I will throw all my support behind WoO going forward, whatever that is worth. Why not just increased the points payout at season end? Its a fancy way of buying people and excluding others whom they deem not as worthy.

There is no guaranteed starting spot. Watch the video and most questions will be answered. Every driver will still have to earn their way into the show.

Oh I get that's what they say now, but my bet is that if push comes to shove and one of the "elite" finds themselves on the outside at a pivotal moment, they'll have a special way of making sure they get them back in the hunt. The right thing to do is put that money in the point fund, not further rewarding those with the biggest bank accounts. No thank you. Believe what you want, but I've been around long enough to understand how things work. No different than Nascar giving advantages to "Factory" cars going thru tech, independents get one set of rules, elites get a whole different deal. Go back and listen to Red Farmer stories about how things have always been. Sure this isn't Nascar, but its the same plan. No matter how you slice it, it serves to further separate the haves from the have less, just like was stated by MasterbiltRacer, that money will most certainly go into making their team faster, its the nature of racing and humans.
