T-Mac switching to Longhorn?

That is surprising...

Curious questions for anybody that might know:
1. What are the standard LH vs XR1 axle tub lengths?
2. And, what are the standard j-bar lengths LH vs XR1?
3. Is the RR shock/spring angle adjustable on either LH/XR1 or both?

1.Same RR tube on both. LR on a Rocket is 1" shorter but they run a 1/2" wheelspacer standard. So 1/2" shorter on XR1 when race ready.

2. Rocket is 20 5/8" J bar with a 3 1/2" offset pinion plate LH is 21ish" with a 4" offset pinion plate.

3. Both cars have adjustable shock angles.

Thank you. When you say offset pinion plate, do you mean ie, 3/1/2 to the right vs 4 inch to the right?

No the only thing that changed was the lr spacer. They shortened the lr tube a few years before the xr but would typically run a 1" spacer standard. The xr has a 1/2" spacer standard

There you go... it was definitely the chassis for TMac. Glad he figured it out before the season got further along and I am a TMac fan.

Hilarious. Sadly there are those that base their decisions on such a small sampling of data. I think a lot of these guys that are "Hit & Miss" may not be following the setup procedure to the letter. These modern DLM's and their setups are so sensitive and so interdependent that the slightest thing off and you're lost in the tall grass looking like a fool. Was this car that Tmac was running new and/or who set it up? Could be bad setup habits within the team, just like CBR(Clint Bowyer Racing) They made several good drivers look mediocre, except when Barry Wright was in house taking care of the setups. All I'm saying is the team Tmac is with may have some bad/erroneous setup habits procedures holding them back. I think this is why you see some guys switch or just pick up a new car that setup at factory and for a few weeks they look stellar. Then something happens and that speed just disappears... Just My Observations.

I think your probably right. Its a shame, so much money spent just to ride around and then drink beer... I've been with teams like that, I didn't stay long. For me its a serious devotion, if nobody else is, then I'm not gonna waste my time on it.
