    Mars series at Highland

If you haven't watched this race from last night it might be worth a watch. Pretty good race with Shannon Babb winning.

Amen! That was a great feature! Track was moist, multiple grooves, plenty of slide jobs, and definitely some 1/4 mile door banging. The MARS regional series delivers great racing. Sometimes I think the regional series' deliver better racing than the expensive national series. Great win Shannon!

I agree with everything said here..... There are some good drivers in that series... A number of drivers can win on any given night.

Ditto on those comments. MARS puts on some great shows and, personally, I prefer the 1/4 mile tracks for good racing. Nice to see Shannon Babb get the monkey off his back this season. He's been one of the best of the Illinois drivers for a looong time.

MARS is doing a nice job. It's nice to go to a semi big race & not see one of the usual 5 or so guys that seem to win all the big money races. Lucas is beyond stale IMO at this point. And outlaws not much better.

agreed id rather watch a mars race or htf race than a national race. handful of guys are almost a guarantee to win woo/lucas race

Totally agree. Seems like the most competitive late model races I've seen this year have been Northern All Star and MARS shows. I think the Summer Nationals could be really competitive. Those national series are getting really boring.

They race a lot of bullrings and when the national guys stay home it's a real crap shoot who can win out of the regional/local guys. Really looking forward to lasalle in a couple weeks. I hope a lot of national guys show up or very few... keep us guessing who comes out on top.

The Mars Series puts on a couple more good races this past weekend. Saturday night at Fairbury and another good one last night at Spoon River. When Spoon River is prepped right that track is one of the best in the country. Good job track crew..

I heard mars only gave out show up points,
                    if that’s true, why?

That was at Tri City Friday night. Live timing was on the fritz. They also changed the format to passing points.
