Back in the day most race tracks ran every Friday night or Saturday night my family went Saturday nights you didn't have to look at a schedule now a lot of race tracks are running every 2 weeks or longer now here is the problem with that when you have a rain you have gone a month without a race people forget your racing I remember they would put it on there sign races every Friday night or Saturday night

Lernerville runs every Friday and some Sundays.

Only so many guys gonna have $50k street stocks to run for $500 to win... that kills car counts and that kills crowds.Always carrying my 2 Crown Jewels

The thing is here in Ohio Limaland runs on Friday from May til August. They get 23 mods on average and 20 Winged 360 sprints and 16 Street Stocks. Its hard to get there especially if you work til 3 or 4 in the afternoon and hotlaps start at 6:30 if you live more than 1.5 hours away. So alot of Racers run on Saturday. Most are off and able to travel. Now as far as running weekly alot of tracks if smart would work with others around 3 hours away to run every 2 weeks or so this allows people to get their cars fixed and allows for family and it also allows for the track to have a big race and sort of get a better car count for example say a normal late model race pays $2,000 to win and $300 to start and gets 20 cars in 2 weeks run a $8,000 to win $800 to start and you might get 35 cars and a big crowd.

Please go on. I could reminisce about the “old” days forever. The under 50 year old crowd on here just don’t know what they missed. Dirt or asphalt, and including NASCAR back in the day. Seeing Moyer as he was a young pup, battling it out with Essary, Phillips, Frye, Kraft, in the Midwest —-- or Kulwiki, Trickle, Eddy, Martin, Seneker, Wallace, Miller, in the upper Midwest.
Anyone else remember when Bill Frye drove a street stock three nights a week?
Please, go on, chime in.
Anyone else?

Monnett was very good on Sunday nights. Went there for my first time in the early 2000s and enjoyed it so much I changed my trip plans around so I could return the next Sunday. On the pavement side Columbus Motor Speedway in Ohio ran Sundays and you'd better get there early if you wanted a seat. Great LM stuff with a lot of very talented drivers run by the Nuckles family forever until it closed a few years ago due to no family member stepping up for the retiring group. Definitely was one of my favorite joints in the country.

Really disappointed in Kokomo. Their limited schedule is sad. They do no promoting. They also don't support the local racers. Think their local thunder cars got three dates this year. They replace their front stretch bleachers and put in less than the old bleachers. Go figure.Originally posted by lurker View Post
Kokomo is in the same regard as you speak of. Best sprint car bullring in Indiana, now runs a limited schedule. Montpelier is my now go-to as they have a well rounded schedule this year.
