Really? I watched some it on flow. What I saw was really good racing. 5 LM guys got locked in out of 10 spots. Gustin, Troutman, Dillard, Sorensen, Timm

I watched the features last night after watching LaSalle & Knoxville on Flo
. I thought they were entertaining. The track was racey.. I will peak in again tonight to see who wins the $100K

Big bummer for Charlie Medfford. Would’ve been starting in one of the top 6 rows in tonights 80 lapper but had a run on Will Krup with a couple laps left fir second in his qualifier and tried to make the pass diving into the opening that Krup quickly shut down and they made contact with Krup spinning. Caution came out but it was for a spin at the other end of the track. Mefford pulled off probably thinking the caution was on him but would’ve had his spot back. Now he starts in an F main. Been rooting for him ever since the dome deal. Funny guy. Hopefully he can make an alphabet soup run cuz he has one of the fastest cars there it looks like.

on another note…RTJ spun while in a transfer position in his qualifier. Worked his way back to one spot short. Will start on the front row of the bmain that takes 10 cars so he’ll easily get in barring any trouble.

Overall I thought it was a sucess. Although a DLM driver won, the Mod guys held their own. A fairly even split in the top ten between the UMP & USRA cars as well. I do wish the Modified world would just consolidate their rules across the country like the 410 sprints & Dirt Late Models.

I'm too lazy to do a deep dive in the rule books. What are the major differences/advantages between the UMP and USRA/USMTS type mods? It did seem like the UMP cars had a slight advantage at MTS (qualify up front, start up front, probably finish up front in heats) but the long feature equalized things a little. I heard Strickler had both types available to him and went with his UMP Elite chassis and not his USMTS mod.

Yeah, it was bummer to see RTJ not making the feature when that engine went sour. He would have been fun to watch in that feature. Jim Chisholm always seems to run very well at MTS. Sanders put on a great drive after having to come all the way from the rear after that early mishap sent him to the rear. He probably had the best car on the track but ran out of time.
