When I was at that track around 20 years ago it was a beautiful facility. I've heard the grandstands and SAFER barriers were cannibalized and everything else fell into major disrepair. Really a shame. All the good luck to Matt Tifft, his work is cut out for him.Political correctness,...is the inability to speak the truth about the obvious. -

Yes, and yes. It will almost be a complete rebuild with all that was torn out or destroyed since it closed. The good part of that, in my opinion, is that it will be easier to reshape the track. The dirt configuration after they removed the pavement was pretty narrow and not conducive to good racing. They tried to keep a lot of the pavement infrastructure in place (outside and inside walls, pit road, etc.), which made the dirt track tight. If they can widen the turns and add some banking at the top, I think that could improve the racing compared to the previous dirt configuration.Originally posted by 3 wide View PostComment
