JD: Moving up the rankings

IMO he was already top 5 before this win. But he just keeps making a case for uncomfortable debates.

He has come into his own over the last 10 years, but for those of us fortunate enough to see him run in the 10 years before that, you just knew he was going to the top. I first saw him run around 2005(maybe a bit earlier, like 03' or 04'), but he showed up to Toccoa Speedway in his family owned limited late model, a Rayburn. I believe it was a Southern all-star Super Late model series race and Chris Madden was the favorite driving the Barry Wright housecar. Feature time came and it was a 2 car show, JD gave Madden all he could handle and even though JD didn't win, he was the show. Early on like many drivers he was a bit rough around the edges, the talent and drive was there but sometimes he went a bit too far and bent some stuff. By the time 2015 rolled around he'd gotten into his stride and the rest they say is history, but those earlier years were something to see."In the Republic of Mediocrity, Genius is Dangerous." - Robert Green Ingersoll

He’s definitely on a Mount Rushmore of drivers already.
