I didn't know Scott personally, only thru interviews, videos and the like. Some may consider the stance I took after the announcement of his death as "denial", but I don't, just looking at the evidence available to me and trying to see "ALL" possible reasons. If that's denial to some, that's fine with me, but I disagree. I did build him 1 set of shocks he ran in Florida in 2000 during the time when he was considering teaming up with GVS racing and was making lots of changes in his team. That was as close as I got to knowing him, although I knew others who'd actually worked for him at different times. I felt like many of his decisions prior to the incident could be looked at in different ways, many immediately went for suicide, but I didn't. I'm generally a positive and hopeful person and even though I disagreed with many of Scott's lifestyle choices over the years, watching his life and career unravel wasn't something I celebrated, especially his death. I kept hoping he'd right the ship of his life/career, but he never seemed to regain his forward drive after the motorcycle accident. After his death I hoped it wasn't suicide, mainly for his family, especially his daughter, but its now official and I won't argue the point further. I was wrong...

I hope people aren’t celebrating being right. It’s a tragic ending either way.

There was one piece of information in that report that would have left no doubt it was suicide. But that piece could have burned up in the fire. Either way, it's a sad ending to someone that so many admired.

i know exactly what piece you are referring to-it was sitting between his legs in the (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)pit. Apparently there was nothing left of it because it wasn’t in the FAA report.
It is sad that his buddy at the shop couldn’t stop him from getting into the plane.

If he paid for the right to make money from Scott’s name, then it’s fair game. Yes, I understand the respect part of it, but business decisions must have been made and there is no consideration for respect when dollars are involved. If everyone feels the same as you, he shouldn’t sell too much in the future anyway.

"I was working in shop late and fell asleep in chair and was woke up by Scott pulling into shop. He got out and said to me that I can walk away and not ? to ? if I want. But I said that you have always been there for me and so whatever it is I got you. Proceeded to tell me about a spot on his heart (widowmaker) and that he is not gonna die in a hospital bed. He told me to ? and told me I wasn’t leaving his sight so I didn’t call cops or anything. Said that he was gonna fly plane into barn."

He hadn’t had a heart attack that we know of, and as far as I know the widow maker condition can be treated. This is sort of like Robin Williams’ suicide. A guy that brought so much joy and entertainment to others ends up committing suicide. It just doesn’t seem fair.

Assuming the witness statement is correct and that Scott wasn't hiding any mental issues...this leaves me in two minds.

On one hand it's absolutely terrible to hear that he was dealing with a heart issue like that. Scott still had plenty left in him and it sucks that the last few years were such a mess for him.

On the other hand, there is some peace in knowing that Scott went out on his terms. He always lived life to beat of a different drum.

I don't care what anyone says, there will never be another Scott Bloomquist. Truly one of a kind and the greatest to ever do it.

Getting old sucks and as much as I wish Scott had made a different decision, it was his choice to make. In a way, I can understand it. Maybe he just wanted people to remember him as he was.

I've been telling my wife all along it wouldn't surprise me at all of this was he went out. Think about it. It didn't matter what it was, chassis, tires, rules, or just everyday life, it didn't matter, he did things HIS way. Regardless if it was right or wrong. This was his way of going out.

I never was a fan of his, but I have always respected what he had accomplished. I had actually gotten a soft spot for him over the last few years, I wanted to see him do well. He will be missed for sure.

I'd never heard of this "witness" statement, if its true and accurate, he didn't need to do what he did... My father had 7 bypasses back in 1995, then several stints in 2006 and he's still kickin in his mid 80's. He'd be doing even better had he not taken the poison death jab and 2 boosters, but I digress. Point is, even if he(Bloomquist) didn't want the stints, there is knowledge out there now on cleaning your arteries homeopathically and/or with diet. It would have meant giving up all that $hit they found in his blood stream, but with a little effort and determination he could've reclaimed his life and some glory too. I'm disappointed and I'm angry, because it didn't have to be this way. Too many funerals for me as of late, most were completely avoidable with minimal changes. Drugs, Just say no.
