My mom is the biggest Shirley fan probs outside his family. She has sent him cards for big wins. All kinds of stuff. She couldn’t stay up last night so I texted my folks at 2:45 am. They got up early to watch the replay. Had she been awake she’d have been a drunk on her butt 81 year old woman at 3:00 in the morning.

The track was actually great even after the weather. What is it about that track? I don't think I've seen a boring race there yet.

I am glad they got it in but it didnt need to be that way. You have an 80-90% chance of rain and you spend 30 minutes plus on pre-race ceremonies, then run the Shootout when you know weather is on the way. Bad time management

Fairbury is a track where you never get going that fast actually, yet its usually tacky. most "slow " tracks are usually dry slick and 1 lane. the banking is good also. The black dirt also helps.

It's now been twice that the sun has come up before I've gotten home from a dirt track. It was worth it. Shirley was definitely my sentimental favorite. So deserving.

Was glad Shirley won, nice to see somebody different win. Heartbreaking for Feger I thought he may had a shot at it. I dont think any other track in the country could've pulled that off. Track was pretty smooth all things concerning.

Track has a curfew at 11pm last race has to start. They get 3 passes a year to run late an obviously this weekend is 1 of them. Not sure it changed. Also opening ceremonies with vfw is a special thing an they still part owner of track just not majority. Imo should had started at 430 then threw caution for the fly over. Track has 2 drains one in each end so that helps with drainage. Huge congrats to Shirley an nice talking to him at daves for lunch Thursday.
