Concerning the MARS race at Farmer City Raceway Friday night August 29:
Big thanks out to all involved in keeping this track going. It is a tremendous amount of work by a lot of people.
PERSONAL FROM ME: Extra special thank you to whomever made the final call on ONLY running 3 classes of cars. I don't care if it was Lance Spieker, Matt Curl, or Jonathan Clayton, it was the correct call! Got the big show in for the Late Models, couple flips in the Modifieds and quick running of the Pro/Crate Late models. This made for an evening of having the race program complete well before 10 pm. Efficiently run program makes a difference. Late programs not a problem for the locals, but when you finish season #70 with an hour ten minute drive home, (me) it is a HUGE deal. Again, thank you, this was/is always a deal breaker on making the trip. Only 60 cars, but still a nice well groomed track and well run show. Again, personal opinion from me, 75-90 cars is plenty for any show, period! This comes from someone who, in my younger days many times made the 5 hour one way trip to Brownstown, IN, then drove back home. Some of those nights had 100 late models for a one night show.
