Good looking track in scenic West Virginny and should make a lot better racing than the old big track. Hate to be the guy that has to mow the "grandstands" though. That much aluminum would be expensive.

Rookie observation here but the fence configuration in what I assume are turns 1 and 3 are going to create a potential for someone to make a mistake and take a huge hit there. Turn 1 with that squared off transition and three where I assume is the track entrance from the pits.

The spot on the backstretch where the grader is sitting is where the bleachers are going. The old block and slab backstretch seating is gone.

I personally prefer a track with no wall. If a driver gets loose and edges over the top, his car lives to fight another lap. If there’s a wall and he gets a touch loose, expensive damage occurs. JMO

I believe they wanted to not have a wall on the backstretch but insurance said otherwise.

This is what should’ve been done with that track years ago. It has never been a success using the big track. and the one previous attempt at shortening it was not done properly.

The only comment is that the track should’ve been shifted more towards old turn four with the flag stand in the second half of the straightaway instead of the center. Less of the hillside seating would have been wasted. That hillside does not hold as many people as it looks like it does and now it holds even less that get a good view of the track.

This is what one can do when they buy the track. The Hurley's were able to rearrange infrastructure that the 3 previous promoter/leasers were not. The new configuration is more centered to the property then the earlier shortening project. Can't believe the negativity when they haven't turned a lap in an era where tracks are closing everywhere.
