    Bill Frye

This is good especially if you are a fan of Bill. I grew up watching Bill drive a street stock.

Bill was one bad mf behind the wheel. And a good guy as well. I remember when I was little, probably 12ish, I would draw pictures of racecars and get drivers to autograph them, and Bill went over and above to be kind and courteous to me.

Bill's son-in-law is a pretty salty modified driver too. My uncle is owner or part owner on the car he drives.

Another piece of Bill Frye trivia: i think it was 2007, Johnny Virden came out of retirement and won his first or second race back at Texas Motor Speedway, over a stacked field, in a GRT modified that Bill built. That car had some front end stuff that was ahead of it's time, and it remained competitive for several years after. Virden retired again and Bill and Dallas (his son in law) drove the car locally. It even had the wrap from Bill's last late model on it at one point.

I will have to listen to this when I get a chance.

Bill has to be one of the best story tellers I have ever heard. I like hearing him talk the time Earl made him "bury the hatchet" over the 97 dream deal. That door is still floating around I saw awhile back on a Facebook group. That has to be one of the coolest pieces of history you could have from our sport.

As you can probably tell from my handle, Bill was probably my all-time favorite. Not only was he a great driver (still is - a little more than a month ago he jumped in a super stock at Wheatland and won against a stout field), but he was very personable and as others have mentioned a great story teller. I would love to see him in a late model again.
