I like Rueben and feel bad for him. To make that call and miss a super exciting finish at one of the biggest events of the year at the home of DirtVision has to be tough. Then you add everyone piling on social media and of course it’s going to get replayed because it was the biggest moment of the night. He seems to be very sensitive so I’m sure it’s been a tough 12 hours for him. It’ll pass though. Hopefully he’ll take it in the chin, acknowledge it, shake it off and then learn something from it. He needs to slow down sometimes and actually observe more instead of feeling the need ti fill every second of air space.

To be fair, Essex by many including me is considered to be the GOAT and I heard him mess up and miss calll things several times this year and DJ or whoever have to subtly correct him or ignore it. It happens. Unfortunately for Rueben not only was it the biggest spot of the event but also with all his colleagues in attendance and many from other motorsports industries like NASCAR.

I didn't watch last night, but this seems to be a problem in modern sports announcing across the board. Announcers seem to come into a race/game/event with a preconceived notion of what is going to happen or what they want to happen. Everything about their coverage is tailored to the narrative they are trying to push. That & sloppy fundamentals leads to screwups like the what happened last night.

Come on now, if it was a one time thing, then it would be understandable but there seems to be no improvement from him after all this time. He has very little knowledge of this sport. Also, I can understand that he likes Bobby but we don't need to hear about his love of him many times a race. I see why Dirtvision has free audio of every race but could you imagine just listening to Rueben on the radio and trying to figure out what is really happening in that race. Look at all the posters and very few say anything good about Rueben's announcing. Like someone else posted, he must work for very cheap.

I have to agree, the Flo gang had lots of flubs during their broadcasts. Only broadcaster I mute is Gibson with the WOO sprints. Seems these guys call the race from their monitors and sometimes just miss the moment. It's easy to get locked in on a certain driver and miss other things happening on the track.
