The Hillbilly never was the big national draw at Pennsboro. Car count was usually much lower than the DTWC. Lucas sanctioning didn't help one bit as it lost it's regional and local support because of all the rules associated with the sanction. Getting the car count up to near 40 would be a major win and that 20K would be huge for the non touring racer. Everyone seems to forget that a sanction only guarantees about 10-12 cars and the bulk of the field is made up of local-regional cars.
