Thank God the Lucas "chase" point system is gone! I have been embarrassed to be a Lucas fan. RTJ got ripped out of two season titles because of it. If they used the regular system, he would have won the year Hud and Devin won.

There's an asterisk beside Hudson and Morans titles as far as I'm concerned.Originally posted by Snake X3 View PostThank God the Lucas "chase" point system is gone! I'd expect it from DoD. You never have to read much of any article to know what spin they are putting on things or which drivers they love. Flo has been a bit more balanced in their coverage, although I suspect you are right. Wouldn't make much sense for Flo to heavily promote a competitor. What we need is a media outlook with actual fair and balanced coverage like DirtTrackR does but devoted exclusively to Late Models. I'd even settle for a site that covered all dirt racing if the coverage was as balanced. The daily video thing is fine, but I like reading longer articles that do a deeper dive like DoD, but without all the bias.Originally posted by chathamracefan View Post
Look for less coverage than ever of WoO by the Dirtondirt gang. All Flo all the time most likely.

Not surprised but not sure it's good. listened to Brad Sweet interview on DIRTRACKR with some discussion of High Limit future plans.
the streaming genie is out of the bottle. biggest question will be how the money is spread out and how exclusive a club top level series become. not that they aren't already exclusive.
on the bright side: i don't expect to hear "championship" and "chase" in the same sentence ever again. i will never understand how anyone thought that could be anything but bad.

Another thought regardless of what was loved about Flo in the past and what it will become in the future. Give credit to those who had a vision and made it happen. I’ve been able to watch more races in the last five years from places I was never going to get to than I saw in my previous 50 years of attending races. And the days that I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations, well, I have really good days - Ray Wylie Hubbard

While yoir correct on watching racing. The provider should never be the governing body too. They wint fix bodies to get areo correct, shocks will still be monkey see monkey fo and cost astronomical prices, and they won't fix format.. all them little things could and willmakr a substantial change

What gives you any inclination that any of that was going to be addressed anyway? Francis talked a big game and nothing happened. The former photographer is just a puppet to the industry.Originally posted by Jim11h View PostWhile yoir correct on watching racing. The provider should never be the governing body too. I'm in Canada. If it weren't for finding DoD 10+ years ago I would have missed everything except for the track a couple hours away.Originally posted by klemmabyna View PostAnother thought regardless of what was loved about Flo in the past and what it will become in the future. I don’t want to be negative, but the future of the track and facility is probably uncertain at best. It’s in the middle of nowhere and they have many events with very low attendance. Forrest probably subsidized the track and other facilities out of his own pocket as a passion project. If someone else isn’t willing or capable of doing the same thing, it probably plays out like the return of I-70 Motorsports Park has.Originally posted by Danimal67x View Postwith the old man gone wonder what the future is for Wheatland?

There wasn't an inclination, just a hope that somebody new would take over and change the disaster we have now. 50-60k motors, 10k shock package, 40k roller.....it's simply not a long term sustainable thing for local racers and tracks to keep going . Series and manufacturers are the culprit cause stupid racers will spend stupid money. Then you got fans talking crap here about shows not paying enough weekly or regional shows ti support their favorite driver or car. Series or sanctions can get this under control and 2 biggest are where needs to start.....Flo & WoO
