Mark Richards was winning in the 70’s and is still winning today. Love him or hate him he’s the best to ever do it, I know they have a crew chief but everyone knows who’s calling the shots on rocket1

No doubt one of the sharpest minds in the sport. He's one of the few where i would say he contributes more than the driver in the performance aspect of the car. I think some of the people mentioned in previous posts get a lot of credit that they may not really deserve when it comes to the actual decisions made on the car. Yeah, they may be good at prepping and maintaining equipment, and I'm sure they've know plenty(far more than me), but I think for guys like Bloomquist and Moyer, it was more driver talent behind the wheel, plus their own knowledge that really made them successful.
When it comes to Shane and Dale, I've always wondered who the real brains of the operation is. I know Shane gets credit for being the setup guy from Dale, but Dale is sharp as a tack. I've been to his setup school. I think as long as Dale has a dependable crew guy who can follow instructions, he's going to be fast no matter what.

i like dale alot but he wasnt good at cbr without shane. Shane is very very smart and together they make a great team
