I enjoy your Iowa tracks, don't get me wrong. Plenty good racing there. It's just that you can't claim Iowa having the 'best tracks in the country" and have ever been to Peoria, Kankakee, Farmer City, Fairbury and say that. 🤘😉Originally posted by ftfiowa View Post
nope, sure didnt. illinois has the supers, iowa has the tracks. #FactsMatterI'm a copycat wetter... 😎

there are tracks in illinois that would rate better if they had better track prep such as red hill, spoon river, kankakee, tri city. the other thing that makes a difference is that for weekly racing USRA & IMCA formats are vastly superior to UMP and iowa tracks run much more efficient shows.
If Iowa had supers at stuart, boone, mtown(all same gear) weekly there is no 3 tracks in illinois that could touch them.
belle claire was a 4 for me before they tore it down i am looking forward to the new track tho
the worst track in both states by far is west liberty, however 4-5 degrees more banking & it would easily be a 3 or 4.
i did not include figure tracks that run some oval classes as well such as brooklyn ia., indianola ia., adel ia., etc.
im rating based on track design, track prep, and dirt. factors not in my rankings:lights, seating, promoters, restrooms, concessions.Last edited by ftfiowa; 01-18-2026, 07:32 PM.Everybody Love Everybody!

That's your opinion. When you give Knoxville a 5 in a late model discussion, it's clear your opinion is skewed. It wouldn't even be a 3 if you didn't include lights, seating, promoters, restrooms, concessions (as you say you didn't).

Is this blackie? Probably not. Sycamore would have been at the top of the list.

Blackie here 🤘😎.. Most Iowa tracks are way better than Sycamore. However, some of the Iowa tracks couldn't hold a candle to Sycamore.Originally posted by zyoung25 View Post

Amen to that. The above mentioned poster hasn't a clue. The closest he's been to a Illinois tracks is through Wikipedia. He's so far off base it's laughable. Not taking sides on a Illinois vs Iowa debate but Peoria a 3? Not on it's best day and that's basically my home track.Originally posted by blncfn57 View Post

been to fairbury and farmer city. seen peoria and kankakee on ppv.. peoria is an avg track. kankakee is below avg. i know you guys from illinois think that you have the best tracks, what you have is a great group of super lm's. a lot of the tracks are average at best. i think ive been to more of your tracks than you've been to iowa tracks. fairbury is great but thats it in my opinion. belle claire was very good but the key is WAS.Originally posted by Clayton_Wetters View Post

any of us who even discuss this and state anything have a bias. im going off of what ive seen and thats it. Also my rankings are for tracks, NOT tracks that run super lm'so only or primarily. and i included it in this forum because this is the most read forum. i try to judge based on the history of what ive seen. i have no bias against the state of illinois or any track at all. illinois might have the 2nd best collectiion of tracks, or maybe ohio does, or maybe missouri, or minnesota, or wisconsin, or indiana come to think of it(i really enjoy their tracks on ppv).Originally posted by Pennsboro32 View PostSurely no bias there right?Everybody Love Everybody!

Never said nor have I ever heard anyone from Illinois make the claim Illinois had the best tracks. I'm not a good judge for that I just laugh when somebody claims one state is the best in the country.Originally posted by ftfiowa View Post
