absolutely no shade to jd, hes the best currently and will certainly be in the goat conversation. But scotts numbers mostly came in time when it was only one week of lucas speed weeks, and most 2 day shows were heats one day and features next, idk of any lucas races they do that at now, they also have more features on the schedule than ever. Congrats to him just hard to compare

Plus they counted 8 that were split field features... a lucas oil A main winning percentage for both would be nice to see.

To my knowledge, only 4 LM drivers in history have triple-digit win totals with any one series: Bloomer with HAT, Moyer & Babb with the Hell Tour, and Terry Phillips with MLRA (116). That's elite company that JD is on track to join very soon, no matter how you slice it.

I would put him 3rd on the list right now IMO. He is doing it a little different than the two in front of him.

I agree. I'm a big JD fan, but it's a different time now. JD is the best of his era, but I'd have liked to see him run against Moyer and Bloomer in their prime to settle the question. My guess is they all would have won their fair share and still be considered the best.

Moyer and bloomer did more than carry a helmet, those two carved the way!

and to my knowledge they were pretty good out the gate, JD seemed to be average until that for a long time until rumley car and landers ride after.

The simple question is......Does JD belong on Mt. Rushmore with Scott and Billy. I would say yes.

They can all be there for different/multiple reasons. Yes Scott and Billy did most of their winning in a different era of the sport, less engineering and technology, but that doesn't keep JD from being at their level in the sport. 1 could ague when Scott didn't have Tommy Hicks, Danny Myers, Capt. Kirk or a solid crew, he was average as well.

JD for sure is on Mount Rushmore. He’s won every crown jewel minus the DTWC. Lucas titles. Most Lucas wins. His resume is top 3/4 now and he’s not close to being done yet.

JD is good obviously. And one of the all time greats. But it seems these days the equipment is a bigger piece of the equation than ever. He is in a big time ride (that he earned no doubt) which gives a massive advantage over the field.

Of course equipment has always mattered, it just seems to be a much much bigger factor in the aero dependent era of today.

I was never a Bloomer fanboy, but can say there will never be another one quite like him. The combo of talent, mystique, aura, outlawishness. That dude had it all.

Those guys were called "crew chiefs," sure. Scott made the calls on his cars, anybody that spent much time around the pit areas could tell you that. One Scott's worst years was when he still had Hicks. He also never had a solid crew either. Nothing at all like what JD has now.

Everyone seems to forget the Golden Boy Jeff Purvis, but he was as good as anyone in his short late model career.
