What are you guys thoughts on teams running the black wheels? I personally don't care for them and prefer the natural aluminum wheel color.

If I remember correctly that combo came from the carbon fiber wheels that Marsh started making in the '80s. We ran them wherever they were legal and it was the best deal ever on wheels at something like $160 per. If you broke one you put the pieces in a box with $60 and Marsh sent you a new one. No questions asked. We broke a few but never bent a spindle or other front suspension part running them. They were so light a 3 year old could pick a 14" wide one up easily. Sold my last one a couple of years back to a young guy, mid 30s, who had never even heard of them and planned on trying it on a Limited Late Model. Illegal but who looks that hard at a wheel any more?Originally posted by wreck View PostThey need to bring back the black wheel and bright orange beadlock combo from the 90s.

I do recall from when I looked at rule books from way back in the day there were rules that required things like wheels, driveshafts, weight ballast, and other things which might fall off a car or be dislodged in a wreck to be painted white, or be of a bright color so it could be easily spotted on the track. But that was a while ago and some things seem to have passed into history, especially in regards to wheels.
Polished wheels, black wheels, colored wheels, wheel covers decorated. Doesn't matter to me. Depends on the overall look of the car and what they are trying to present with an overall graphics package. If you do an ugly wrap that looks like a Cosby sweater on wheels, what difference is a wheel color going to make?Political correctness,...is the inability to speak the truth about the obvious.

Depends on the car color and wrap, but black wheels and covers look pretty cool, but they’d simply look weird of it didn’t work with the scheme. For instance, black wheels would look ugly on Rocket1. But they’d cool instead of chrome on, say, Max Blair’s car.

I think of black wheels the same way I do seeing men today with ratty beards. It's laziness disguised as fashion.

99% of the time black or chrome looks best... I've seen some schemes colored look good. The neon yellow menards wheels in nascar always looked good I thought.Always carrying my 2 Crown Jewels
