If you could re-open a defunct former race track in the United State, what track would you try to reopen, why, and what classes would you run?

Brennens, I-79, Interstate in WV, was a 5 minute drive from my house. Where I saw my first race during the early 60's.

Santa Fe, East Bay, Kentucky Lake, Beaver Dam

Perry County Speedway in Hazard, Kentucky for the nostalgia. I’d run a stock truck and modified truck class, an entry level modified and higher level modified class, and a crate and super late model class.

Bureau County Speedway. Princeton, Illinois.
D shaped at best. Darn near round. 1/4 mile in length. Closed about 20 years ago.

Made one trip to Atomic Speedway in Oak Ridge, TN. 1/3rd mile, red clay, high banked with a D-shaped front stretch. Awesome racing. Sadly, closed for a truck terminal. I believe it ran its last race in Nov of 2006.

Also forgot to mention Santa Fe Speedway. Definitely a legendary Chicagoland area track of clay that many times raced four nights per week.

Assuming it doesn't matter what is currently at the physical location:

1) Santa Fe (IL)....at least run the 200 one more time. In addition, I wouldn't mind seeing Modifieds there, and definitely Sportsman (which are all but gone in our area).

2) Hales Corners (WI)....Sprints and LM's

+1 to Delta Bowl, that place was bad to the bone!

Beebe Speedway - grew up 15 minutes from there, it closed unceremoniously in 2012.

I-30 Speedway - Copart bought it to turn it into a scrap yard and it's still an empty lot.

I-80 Speedway - got to go there for the last Silver Dollar Nats, but could only stay Saturday which got rained out.

Pavement-The late great Saugus Speedway, Saugus, CA. LA area dead flat 1/3 mile with huge field of LMS, Hobbies and Figure Eights that held just over 6,000 people and filled the place to capacity for decades. Was my Saturday night home for a couple of decades when I lived in SoCal. Closed in 1995 due to grandstands needing replacement. Had enough contractors and suppliers that volunteered to do it for nothing but the owners thought their big Sunday swap meets would bring in enough dough without the track. They were wrong.
Dirt- Ernie Purcell Speedway in Grass Valley, CA, my new home when I moved north in '85 and was tickled to have the red clay 1/4 with a dogleg on the front stretch and just 15 minutes from my new home. The epitome of a small town fairgrounds track that held about 1,500 and filled it up every Saturday to watch the Winged 360 Sprints, my class LMS, Hobbies and sometimes 4 banger stocks. Low key joint with very close racing always done by 11 p.m., time to take the family for pizza and be home by midnight. Like Saugus it too closed in 1995 mostly due to a fairboard that thought they could bring in something else that would bring in more money. Two draft horse shows a year weren't the answer and I went by the place several times a week and was p.o.ed to see it sitting empty. Lots of locals still, over 30 years later, won't attend anything at the location.
