    Gary Webb

Dirt on Dirt has a nice piece today about Gary and starting to wind down his epic career. Always one of my favorites though I'm on the left coast and didn't get to see as much of him as I would have liked. Most of my trips to the Midwest would be about it but usually saw a few wins every time. One trip many years back got to see him clean house at Dubuque when he won, I think, all but one of the mains that year in the Moring ride he helped make famous. Great racer and glad to see him still at it. Not many have had the career he has had and hope he finishes it with a few more wins.

Longest racing career I've witnessed. I remember him racing in the 70's against guys that have been long gone for quite some time.

internet history doesn’t begin to capture the career of Gary Webb. Another of the legends from my youth…

Gary stands the test of time, hate everything that has happened to him over the last few years but he keeps digging. Always treated me well, even when I was a smart @#$% kid who wished he could do what Gary does. One of my personal highlights was about 5 years ago I was at work and saw someone walking towards me- thought to myself 'that guy looks just like Gary Webb' and low and behold it was him (about 950 miles from the quad cities). Wouldn't have been any more excited if Elvis himself had stopped by, good luck to Gary and can't wait to see his next stop in victory lane.

Gary's "desert storm" car is still one of my favorite cars ever. The color of it was just different. I got to see it a couple times at the dtwc when it was ran wvms in the early 00's.

I still have my 90s Webb shirt, the blue and yellow car. Only got to see him about once a year, when he would come to granite city for the Busch all stars.

Always very friendly to chat with after the races.

Nights like that are so cool, I remember Ed Dixon randomly being at Winchester (TN) one night in the late 2000s.
