I looked at the schedule for FLO for tonight and thought I would tune in for some DLM racing. Then I saw they are having 7 classes. No thanks, I am watching a NCIS rerun with wife....and tracks wonder why the grandstands are half empty. 7 classes on a Thursday is CRAZY.

Yes abs the top 10 fastest qualifiers are locked into to the feature without having to heat race!
Ray Cook is famous for this b.s.
Fans don’t pay to see 2 laps of qualifying instead of seeing “ ALL” drivers race their way in.
t
Total bull crap in my opinion.
Taking care of the drivers and crapping all over the paying fans!

I totally agree. Knew hated system and couldn't remember why after seeing at Florence several years back. No excuse to not have super lates and geat racing etc. Last I knew this sport was called RACING!!! If was paying fan I'd never attend. Southern track racing is ridiculous

Agree with all you guys but I got lucky tonight. When I turned it on they were running a B for 602s so only had to suffer through that. They did some track prep and I finished cooking some beef stew that was done just when the SLM A was lining up. Watched the decent show with McDowell beating ONeil and turned it off. Don't bet my luck will hold for the next two nights but with the big MARS show rained out in Iowa not a lot of other choices unless I just go out in the shop and work on our car. Always an option.

I am actually headed to Wythe tonight (one of my all time favorite tracks) with a friend of mine, would have told him no if I had looked at the schedule. Only hope is they hotlap qualify (which is what Wythe normally does) and run features- with SLM not being last. They use to run an 'efficient' show.... Now as to the format, quite common in the area for no heat races, etc.; personally hate it but the minute you try and talk about how other places or parts of the country run they shut you down.
Last nights show wasn't extremely late, especially for starting after 8:00; if the TV production was better it would not have been bad (have interviews, personal interest stories, etc. between SLM racing- only briefly show support classes). Might have to actually hire commentators and personalities....Quit thinking you are 'marketing' to the two family members who think it is great that nephew Billy Bob is racing his front wheel drive on TV. Market to the serious race fan and provide a solid product in a tolerable amount of time.

I don't mind chatter about other class drivers. Think its cool for them. Yes the supers why i tuned in but ill watch other classes just don't want 10. 3-4 classes heats and features do away with qualifying fast on front row.
Attica raceway park dud something unheard of these days. You win the next race best you can start is 8th i think is. I need ro reread it again but you get jist.
