At least he was man enough to take responsibility for the deal unlike most drivers.

So let me get this straight......commend a guy for "coming clean" after he was caught. C'mon guys, he deserves ZERO praise for this. I did tires for a weekend Wissota modified racer for 21 years, and in 2001 I knew that you didn't touch a tire with Simple Green/degreaser without it messing with the rubber. It's 25 years later and he should have known better.......

Yep - he got the book thrown at him. Probably because he won the race tho. Babb ran top 10 on Saturday (8th or so IIRC). The only way to really fix the tire issue is to make the teams buy tires at the track the day of the event. That is only feasible for the big events (Eldora & maybe a few others) though. Other than that there is always a risk of "monkey business" in the tire game.Originally posted by golddirt View PostFeger admitted it and they hung his ass!penalties are not consistent.

What is the disadvantage of making Simple Green legal?
Someone needs to convince Simple Green to become the official degreaser of the WoOLMS and everything will be copacetic...

Over history it's mostly Illinois guys that get caught. You ever notice that? Even Bobby got nailed. LolI'm a copycat wetter... 😎

Really, I could be wrong but it just seems to me like it's the Illinois guys who get pop the most. But I have been wrong before. But not very often anymore 🤘😆Originally posted by golddirt View Post
Really? Two come to mind immediately, Owen’s and bloomer.
Anyway, the way Bobby's got his car surrounded and covered up today it almost looks like he's hiding something from not just the other drivers... Now don't get excited it's just an observation.Last edited by Clayton_Wetters; 04-29-2026, 04:41 PM.I'm a copycat wetter... 😎

Not true feger got less of a penalty i think around 3k but it was a higher paying race and he won so he lost more purse money. I'm a babb fan but they full on knew what they were doing and the consequences that could come from it. Hoosier has told everyone on multiple occasions the cleaners that are know to not effect a tire test all of witch are talked about in the context of washing a tire after a race. No one is wiping the mold release off of tires they buy at the track at least not without some underlying potential advantage that they convince themselves is within the rules.Originally posted by golddirt View PostFeger admitted it and they hung his ass!penalties are not consistent.
