Drake Troutman, who currently sits 5th in World of Outlaws Late Model Series points, has parted ways with G.R. Smith Motorsports after last nights WoO show.

There is no bad blood… I have a lot of respect and very much appreciation for what GR and his whole family has done for my racing program. He gave me and my whole crew an amazing opportunity. We are working on some things right now and getting a game plan together for the remainder of the year and beyond. As for the keyboard warriors on either side of the story, the best thing to do is keep the drama out of it. This racing deal is tough, it’s expensive and it’s a constant grind. Again, I appreciate GR and his family and have a lot of respect for them. As far as me and my crew goes, we are racers… and racers race. We will be back soon

What is odd to me is they are on this northern swing and this happens. Why not do this before it started or after it's over. Did they run out of engines? He hasn't totaled a car out. I just don't understand how it goes bad in the middle of a run 20 hours from home.Comment

Pretty sure they lost an engine on Saturday and again on Monday. Drake's t-shirt guy said they had lost 8 total this year. $$$$$

From what i am hearing: Drake will be driving for the guy who owned his modified cars in the past . Supposedly he is moving up to late modrls for Drake. According to DirtTracker today- there have been rumblings for a couple weeks?Comment
