RTJ accuses Overton of jumping restarts

RTJ. in his flo racing interview, accused Overton of jumping race starts. He said that if Overton had a problem with the start of there heat race. He knewxwwhere his trailer was. In my opinion RTJ waas being his usual jerk self. Brandon Shepperd had a comment to what RTJ said. Did anyone catch what Sheppard had to say. Just curious is all.

I didn't catch what Shepperd said.

I also didn't see the jump that Thorton was talking about, I did see Overton get a good run on the top and then ran off of the track.
I felt like Thorton's performance in the feature was karma for throwing a temper tantrum after the heat race.

Crying to the wrong person. It is the series responsibility to see that the starts/restarts are fair and punish accordingly; it is the job of the driver to get the best restart he can within what they allow. Not saying he didn't 'jump', saying it is all fair game if he isn't punished for it.

RTJ doth seem to protest too much. Good driver but he sure comes off as a crybaby fairly often. Also don't think he'd want to size up Overton in a skirmish. Never want to fight a guy whose nickname is "Big Sexy"

If I Was RTJ, I would immediately STOP whatever it is that I am doing and get to an eye doctor as fast and safely as possible to get my eyes checked out!

The best part is RTJ justifying running someone off the track because he thought they jumped the start. It reminds me of Brownstown last fall when RTJ clearly spun his tires on the restart, allowing Hudson to drive underneath before turn one, only for RTJ to absolutely plow him...pretty much ending Hudson's playoff run on the very first night.

Did anyone notice Anthony Burroughs complaining to Schwallie at the scales after the heat? He was on his lil bike pointing at the 76, apparently also upset about a jumped start that didn't happen. Overton had to be thinking WTF as he sat there with his left side door caved in.

Not saying this is the answer, just doing some crazy way out there thinking.

In today's age you'd think that they would have technology for officials in the tower to monitor RPM's or speed of the cars under caution.
If they had some technology like this, they could have it to where it unlocks when the leader enters the starting zone so therefore, they could not fire before it is unlocked and there would be no starts jumped.

They could, but who pays for it? Do you really want it? In other sports they added cameras, etc.; to me it just takes a part of the sport away. Yes, they miss calls- gives us something to talk about on Monday. But overall I think the cost would be a big holdup. I am old so my opinion is biased but I would prefer to keep the technology to the minimum....(and the funny part is yesterday I adjusted a timing curve with a computer on a ct525)

I think it is a part of the sport as well. If you're going to use Tech, use it to detect it and not prevent it as it adds some spice knowing a driver could be put back a row or more for firing off too early. If you're trying to prevent it, it is only going to take one occurrence of the tech failing to cause an uproar with the drivers. That is assuming of course the series is paying for it to begin with.

Defiantly not saying it's the direction to head towards, just a wild thought I had. In my simple mind it would have to be something such as a chip that would plug into your MSD box that the series would provide during tech at each event. I have no real knowledge on how that would actually work, I do know in the monster jam world officials can shut down those trucks if they feel that they need to for safety, so there is a form of this technology out there in a sense.

They really do. There are some multiple time offenders in my eyes but Overton isn't one of them and I'm an RTJ fan.
