WOW! New Belle-Clair Speedway delivered on a Sunday night! Dylan Thornton navigated through lapped traffic on the high side in bullring fashion! Seems like every MARS race is exciting. And Mike Norris just makes watching and listening to a MARS race on FLO a must. Keep this race in mind for a race of the year honorable mention in top 10! 🏁

100% better Sunday night. No rain this past week, so the track was plenty smooth. Through the night the groove kept moving up. They were running the wall in the feature. Tanner English through a master slide job on last lap, turn 4, to steal second.Originally posted by BTExpress View PostHow were the track conditions last night. It was pretty rough, as is expected, with a brand new facility when I watched a few weeks ago.

That feature was on the wall. Great action on a Sunday night. TBH I find some of the MARS shows better to watch than the Lucas/WoO same old same old in victory lane. Most of the MARS shows are on bullrings so the action is much better & it's not just the high speed aero parade. This weekend should be a doozy. LaSalle, Farmer City, Fairbury & Spoon River 4 nights in a row. Fairbury $15k to win for late models & $5k for mods on Saturday night.

Darned good race on the new track. Dylan Thornton was not going to be denied the win and did a stellar job with the win. The track prep crew did a good job, especially with little experience with the new dirt. I've been to, probably, a couple of hundred tracks all over the country but never got to the old tiny Belle-Claire, though I tried a couple of times and got rained out. At a home base nearly 2,000 miles away it's not a 15 minute ride. Not sure if the Mike Norris you mention to is the track's announcer but, if so, I've got to disagree with your praise for him. The guy never gave squat for info but just kept repeating "Five thousand dollars to win".

Not to be a negative Nellie, I miss the old configuration. Was unique and now only Macon holds that configuration.8/13/16

I had the pleasure of seeing the old configuration twice for midget shows. Including one where C Bell scrambled from back to front to win after a mid race skirmish with a lapped car. Never saw late models there. Sadly the cars cost so much these days that so few people want to race on the 1/5 mile tracks. Look at how many guys follow hell tour but skip the Macon show. Usually a few. Also, Lucas pulled the Macon date a few years back. The track they built looks nice on TV and is big enough to host any series.Originally posted by Highside Hustler25 View PostNot to be a negative Nellie, I miss the old configuration. Wish I would have gotten to the old Belle-Claire. Macon had 37 entries this year for the H&R 100. Since the Summer Nationals went to the weekly championship format, it's really helped draw more cars to Macon. Last few years entries have been up. Before that, agree guys would skip Macon. The new Belle-Claire is even getting a WoO sprint car race in October. That's impressive and high dollar!Originally posted by chathamracefan View Post

Good point about Macon. You are right the summernats has drawn better the last couple years. Comment was more directed at the national tours. Lucas left Macon, left Taz, left Tyler County. I know those other 2 are bigger but all 3 left for basically the reason that the drivers didn't want to race there.Originally posted by Dirt Clod View Post
