Any national guys running it? Both tours are off but I know some take weekend off for eldora prep

Unfortunately races scheduled the weekend before The World have had slim pickings from the National drivers over the last few years, which might not be a bad thing for the Regional drivers. I am sure the races will be still entertaining for the fans even without some of the big names.

B Shepp is running it. Also Dennis Erb. The weekend may well turn into a Pay to the Order of B Shepp kind of weekend. Not that this is a bad thing. He is killer at FALS & Farmer City. Especially if 32 isn't there.

I feel the same way as I could have watched on Flo. LaSalle usually delivers.
They seemed intent on adding water thinking that will help.

That was not the typical LasSalle Speedway track surface. Multiple cars on two wheels bouncing around. I always wonder how a track gets like that in the late summer. Spring with rains, I get it. Late hot summer night, who knows.

Half the field went to the pits after the first 25 lap feature and did not return for the second feature. I thought that was weird.

Glad I had to see it on FLO. That was a real cowboy up track and Unzicker manned up and really got 'er dun. Been to Lasalle several times over the years and usually enjoyed it but they've always seemed to have weather problems. From HH25's post I assume that wasn't the problem. Also watched the big block Mods Short Track Super Series at Afton, N.Y. They had heavy rains early on and managed to get the track in good shape for the main. Matt Sheppard led the whole thing from the pole after a lucky draw (top 12 from 4 heats draw) and their other biggest star, Stewart Friesen started 3rd, chased Sheppard in 2nd the whole race then tossed a RF wheel on the last lap in a freak bit of luck. Good show, as usual, from the Mods and I watch most all of them that I can as I'm getting a little burned out on the Lates as of late. Never got a chance to run one as they only existed for a couple of years in the '70s out here when late proprietor and builder of Santa Maria Speedway in CA, Doug Fort and N.J. transplant and speed shop owner Pete Van Iderstein brought a few out here and tried to get them going without much luck. Santa Maria has been one of my favorites out here since it opened in 1964. Incidentally, there's an article in the new Speedway Illustrated about the track's comeback since many years of tough times since Doug died a couple of decades back. It's a good read.

A lot of guys pulled off knowing it was 20 show up points no matter where you finished. The guys up front logged on hoping for a top 3 and some cash.
