I have been to almost every World 100 dating back to 1980ish. I can't recall every race and every year like my father could but I remember many great races and things that occurred through the years. One thing I remember is the early years with no hot laps and the first heat race rolling onto the track and the first turn debacles. I also remember many years where the first 2-3 heats had little to no passing. I am totally ok with a 6 car invert, but let's make sure the track is ready and let's make the heat races 20 laps. We're looking at close to 20 cars in each heat and I think 20 laps gives the drivers time to adjust and make moves. Anyways it was a pretty good year for the race. I hated seeing so many top contenders not making the show. I feel horrible for Gustin, man he sure seemed strong.

The 65 lap green stretch had me thinking these DLM shows without series points are nice without the yellows every 8 laps for guys stopping for tires. Than JD ruins it stopping with 4 inflated tires, to change 3 tires. DQ him.

I did not see the race saturday as I was at Boone Iowa for the IMCA Super Nationals but I can't agree with this more. I HATE HATE HATE the pit stops that have infiltrated the late model world. Some of the Lucas & WoO races are just painful to watch when they are stopping every 10 laps to pit for tires. Bogs down the show & messes with how the race plays out. No series should have any guaranteed time in the work area. Period. Hot pit is fine but you only get as much time as is needed to clean up the track & get the lineup set. Nothing else. Sometimes that will be 30 seconds, sometimes 10 minutes depending on the nature of the yellow.

No courtesy laps if you don't have a flat. I feel like it was a waste of time on the whole teams part. They had a top 3-4 car and ended up 7th.

Trouble is on the series races they give courtesy time depending on who it is that goes to the hot pit.

I do have a question though.. why was Pierce allowed to drag out a back up car after blowing the motor and not finishing top 8 in his prelim the first night?
good many drivers had to sit and watch yet he got what looked like special treatment..?
he was allowed to race a car/engine etc. that he never qualified.

not that I saw.. maybe I'm wrong but how can you be allowed to run a car you never qualified?
I saw that Davenport never qualified for the feature but still was put in it.
must be rules for some and not others.
