    Track owner offended —--

Not sure if anyone is following the drama, but I side with the driver, and the penalties are ludicrous.

What a fiasco. Merritt Speedway has been a really good race track in Michigan for decades. I just hope that it can survive under its current owner, and a new person buys it who can do the place justice.

I guess I'll have to look at their track rules, if they are posted, and see under what rule violation they can actually pull something like this off. One would think that if points are monetized and already earned that you can't arbitrarily take them away. Now if you want to get p!ssed off and suspend or ban someone going forward, go for it, but earned items of value taken away after they are earned is a bit over the top. Now there are several series that issue fines and don't let someone race until fines are paid and taking of points does happen in places like NASCAR but the procedure is in the rule book, along with the appeals process and the names of those on the Board of Appeals.

I'm curious now. All this over a complaint about track conditions? Seems over the top by a lot.
Political correctness,...is the inability to speak the truth about the obvious.
