The NASCAR "fight" was a bit of a joke. Do these guys actually, really, truly want to go hands on and fight? No, I doubt it. Most NASCAR drivers are little runts nowadays. They are surrounded by teams and their pit crews are made up of athletes, ex college football players and that sort. So yeah, talk a good game of smack while walled off with all that human tissue standing around and I doubt we would ever see an actual "fight". The last guys I can think of in NASCAR who would probably put up a real good fight - Ryan Newman and Jimmy Spencer. Even Earnhardt Sr was surrounded by his goons so I wouldn't put him in there.

Hocevar isn't really a runt tho, he's very tall and skinny as a rail. So Hocevar has really good reach compared to probably every other driver in the NASCAR garage area. When Blaney confronted him, he sure landed one with that good reach. Then Blaney got held for the next one so, they really didn't go at it all that much. But I'll say this. In a way, NASCAR needed this. They need some emotion brought back to the event. I'll bet it brings some eyes back to the TV going forward. On track paybacks are really hard now because NASCAR has all that telemetry on the cars. They can tell if you're in the throttle, on the brake, or even what the steering input is. So dumping someone on track intentionally will probably get you parked like when Kenseth intentionally dumped Logano a few years ago.

Wanna do something really fun and interesting? Put them in a ring, or an octagon (MMA style) and do it for charity. Lots of people like to talk fight, but really not too many have been in a good one.

The younger generation wasn't taught to do much more than mouth off with their "gang" behind them or whine on Social Media (Where did that name come from?). It was nice to see Ryan Blaney be willing to stand up for the bad manners he believed Hocevar was guilty of.

Wouldn’t happen. The overwhelming majority of modern drivers are softer than baby thighs. Heck, even the NASCAR “fight” were weak arm punches. A toddler hits harder.

He kept moving forward *after* he had to get back up. Most fights don’t knock someone clean out on the first couple of punches. You seem to think because he didn’t get knocked out cold on the first punch that it wasn’t a strong lick. The black eye he’s currently wearing says otherwise. I’m not going to claim I know more about fighting than anyone else, but I am going to say my eyes saw Hocevar deck Blaney twice, hard, and once enough people were there to keep them apart, Blaney tried to look like he was interested in keeping it going even though he knew security was going to keep him separated.

I dont think either of Hocevar's punches were enough to knock Blaney down. The security guard in the green shirt falling down while holding onto Blaney while simultaneously getting punched was what took Blaney to the ground. I hope Blaney runs spire out of race cars going forward

You definitely don’t know anything about fighting.

Neither one of the shots that Hocevar landed was hard enough or near enough to his eye to even cause a black eye. They were jabs at best. Blaney didn’t even flinch either time. Both shots were dead on the chin.

NASCAR is going whole hog on trying to sell the fight because they think that’s what will bring eyes back to their product. If you think they’re above putting makeup on Blaney to sell the fight you haven’t been paying attention.

This was all effectively even more redneck WWE.
