Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love that place & have been there plenty of times but the modern car just seems to produce very limited potential winners there.
Nothing new. During the world for the years 1988 through 2001. They had 2 winners that weren't 0, 21 or 99m. They 5 different winners in 14 years not real diverse.

I've been saying this for years. Eldora has always had a short list of potential winners. Dark horse and unpredictable winners have always been an exception at that place.

I most definitely will be back next year.
loved the small crowd after attending 31 straight World 100’s, every Dream, every prelude and every truck race.
The racing was good and a lot less drunks!
Same! It's the perfect race for me to take the kiddos to. We will make this a yearly pilgramage as long as they have it. Used to go to the Johnny Appleseed/Baltes Classic with the kids but the holiday weekend has gotten in the way. This race is even better!

But then from 2002 to 2009 it was a first time winner 8 years in a row. Of course that time frame was probably peak dirt late model racing in the grand scheme of things. The cars didn't really start getting completely out of control until mid 2010's IIRC. It just seemed 20 years ago it was much more wide open feeling than today. Of course 0 & 21 won the most cause they are 2 of the GOATS.

Very good points. My rebuttal to that would be 4 of those 8 have won national tours and 2 of the 8 would win the world again. The year before bart hartman won he was 2nd in the lucas points. Furthermore all 8 guys have won other crown jewels over there career so none of those guys were exactly out of no where. I also noticed you list doesnt include the 76. I would also argue that if you include the 99 you should include the 17m and 44. I would bet that a few more could be added on top of that.
