I think we are going to try and make the N/S 100 this year, never have been to Florence and I noticed tickets go on sale next Sunday. Where are the best motels to stay at and any other info first-timers to Florence might need to know, thanks!

As far as motels I'm not sure on that. I don't think you'll have a hard time finding a place to stay. Florence is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the Cincinnati area. There is plenty of motels around for sure. I'll tell ya one place you need to eat while you are in the area....Tilted Kilt in Florence. Very nice scenery.

We always stay at the Holiday Inn Express out close to Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport. Ask 4 the Race Track Rates... All kinds of restaurants there.

Tons of hotels in Florence. I would venture away from the hotels in Richwood. They may be closer, but they seem to be pretty run down at this point. Plenty of places to eat in Florence as well.

I think they have a new HOST hotel now, Please check their website to verify that and also their rates are there...They have many hotels to choose from with varied rates just look at like expedia or priceline and see the choices they have and go from there.

Also planning on my first trip to Florence this year (in May for the Lucas show and for the North/South, actually). What kind of seat can I get if I just show up early the day of the races? Don't necessarily want to go ahead and buy the tickets when they go on sale in a few days so I'll be stuck with them if something comes up before then.

you will be able to find ok single seats for the n/s , but if you are looking for 2-3, i would go ahead an reserve something. if not you might be in some of the lower rows or in the bleachers behind turn 2. not many people there ever, so they may not be the best seats. for the lucas ralph latham, you will be fine the day of the show. there is a good crowd them, but still alot of good seats.

A couple years ago it was standing room only at the N/S. I wouldn't wait too long to reserve your seats. Most of the time it is pretty good racing (unless they try to rain out the show with the water truck like 2013?).

Last year's race looked great from the video, we try to make a new track each season, this year we wanted to try Florence. Last year it was I-80 in Nebraska for the Silver Dollar Nat's and I recommend that to anyone it was great.

I have been to the last 5 North/Souths now I usually buy my tickets about 2 months out and get good seats but with the format change. The crowds just keep getting bigger. Also your are in the heart of Bourbon Country . Tour the Woodford Reserve and Jim Beam operations. Two amazing tours and totally on different ends of the spectrum with what they are doing. I think Jim Beam is free and Woodford is like 10 bucks. Plus the drive to get to these places is just amazing!!!!!! Less than an hour away.

Last year's race looked great from the video, we try to make a new track each season, this year we wanted to try Florence. Last year it was I-80 in Nebraska for the Silver Dollar Nat's and I recommend that to anyone it was great.

I normally try to do the same thing every year. Last year I went to 201 for the first time. This year it looks like Volusia will my new one. I'd still like to try one more maybe....Knoxville and I-80 are 2 I want to try. You won't disappointed, the new format was awesome. Which if you've been to I-80 you already know what's in store for you.

There are plenty of hotels and restaraunts in Florence as well.

Getting the day of the show will not be a problem for the Ralph Latham.

The new format for the N/S 100 was a big hit if you needs seats together I would order ahead. I already have mine renewed from last year.

I checked and the Hilton was like $101 a night with the Florence rate. Might stay there might check others in the airport area, their seems to be plenty up there and plenty of places to eat also.

I-80 was great, hope to go back sometime. That format is the way to go for these big shows in my opinion.
