So I pulled a stupid and totally didn't realize how early they were starting the first program. Not that it really would have mattered, in Tampa traffic it took me almost 2 hours to make the 20 mile trip from Clearwater to the track. I got there just as the second B main in the first program was over. So instead of paying 85$ for a feature and a second (partial) program I went and grabbed food and came back for show #2. Now let me say, I'm usually the LAST person to criticize a track for the conditions given how difficult it is to keep a racy surface after this much racing. But East Bay and Lucas should be embarrassed that they took people's cash for that second "race". With the 45 minute-ish break there had to have been SOMETHING they could have done to the track surface. Heck it was early, take a full hour or 90 minutes and FIX the surface. I go to East Bay roughly 20 times and year and that is the standard there - they DO NOT work the track in the middle of the program. You get what you get, and everyone knows it and that's 100% fine. But this was a totally separate program with a totally separate entry fee. They owed it to the people who did pay for the second show and the racers who did try to race it (a number decided to sit out) to at least try to make the surface something semi-raceable. Not counting the first 3 laps and restart laps I'm not sure there was a single actual pass in the entire race. And I've been reading about these new hard tires, WTF are they? Iron? I realize it was only 25 laps but after 25 laps on a totally black track most of the RR's in the pits weren't even that hurt, they appeared to have another 75 laps in them.
