lanigan off to a slow start

0 wins and 1 top 5 after 6 races. how long has it been since he started a woo season this slow?? has the competition in the woo series caught up with him, or is the grind of trying to race AND sell cars making it hard to concentrate on his racing??

Bloomquist got off to a slow start in 2014 and we all know how that ended. There are people who know way more about dirt racing than me but I don't think speed weeks tells us a whole lot about how the season will go.

Let's see where they all are in September. A couple weeks is hardly time to worry.

He still has a broken hand with the cast or brace that could explain some of it -- I'm not a big Lanigan fan at all, so I'm not making excuses I just know that could be part of it.

I think he started almost as badly in 2013.

Seem to remember a driver with a broken wrist and a cast on it that won the World 100.
Guess it's all in how bad you want to win........

He pretty much had the winter extreme or whatever it's called locked up before getting injured. I doubt he is healthy. I also doubt he will get to far behind. Last year he had no Richards out there. Clanton was a dud T-Mac was hit or miss. Chub was weak etc. this year it seems like a lot of guys have stepped up. And he is not 100% healthy. I will be happy if someone other than Lannigan or Richards wins it. I would also like to see someone other than Owens, O'Neal, or Bloomer win the Lucas title. Same with UMP. If its not Pierce or Babb or Sheppard it's probably good for the sport. Hell, as long as i am pipe dreaming i would also like to see a young fella win a crown jewel. Like Moran, Pierce, Sheppard, Moyer Jr.,Ziegler, Gustin, or someone thats been around awhile and dosen't have that big big win. Like Heckenast, or Bagley, Feger, Kent Robinson, Casebolt, Davenport, Shirley

I don't think the injury has too much to do with it, he did win a UMP show at Speedweeks after all.

I'm wondering how much the off season prep suffered with Jameson planning to race instead of focusing on the preparation of the cars. I would suspect that this break will be much needed for Lanigan and they will get their ducks in a row and come out guns blazing in Kentucky next month. Not that I want Lanigan to win but nobody can deny that he is one of the best in the business.

I think his cars, like Bloomers are designed to run best in dry slick situations, not so much hammer down. Most of your big paying events are slick situations in the late summer and early fall.

Lanigan IMO will be in the championship hunt. I would like to see it come down to the World Finals.
Lanigan was hustling the car up top and on the bottom, looked like he drove the car to it's full potential.

I hope he finishes the year like he started the year at speed weeks.
