Elko still run that week of dirt racing in the fall? I remember going there as a kid 6 maybe 7 years old with my Dad. Great LM racing and crazy spectator races. I remember they ran 1/4 midgets on Saturday afternoons on a smaller track as well.

Long time ago, probably 20+ years or more, Elko and Slinger Speedway down here in WI had a couple challenge weekends.

Did you ever venture over to Shakopee? Heard that track closed awhile back.... too bad. Remember going there as a kid too and seeing Figure 8 races at the end of the night with 20+ cars.

If you live anywhere near Oshkosh, WI. go to the Scheffler Memorial race in late August. Last year I believe they had 51 LM's. All the CBC guys plus Mars, Diemel, Bobby Pierce, Jordan Yaggy, etc. Props to Oshkosh for hosting this event and a Lucas Oil race in 2015!!

The track in Elko hasn't had dirt on it since at least 2013. I know WoO sprints, USMTS, and CBC have ran there. Neither held a race there in 2014. And based on the track results and schedule.... 2013 is probably right. The last CBC show there had 13 cars and Rick Wendling was your winner.

The place looked good with dirt on it. Just didn't seem to draw the people or the cars.

The 34 raceway race was a good one last year, for sure. The $10,555 purse sounds like it may pull a lot of good cars again.

They did draw 5,000 fans for the WoO Sprint show in May of 2013, but the very next night when the CBC was there they had about 200. Seems like every time they had a dirt LM race scheduled at Elko the weather was terrible. It's too bad the dirt racing didn't work out because that is an awesome facility, except for the lighting.

To bad they couldn't work something out when late models are in the area going to cedar lake for Menominee. I've drove past there on my way to cedar lake but never been there.
