    I hope you had fun,

I live a few minutes from Lincoln and drove an hour to go to Hagerstown.

I've never been much for Sprint Cars, it was the same when I lived in New England. Everyone is all about the Whelen (Asphalt) Modifieds, ISMA Super Modifieds and SK Mods and I was more interested in Super Late Models.

    To each their own,
    Thanks,
    Jeff.

It wasn't bad actually, Pure Stocks, Limited Late Models, Super Late Models (I left) then it was Hobby Stocks and Rookie Cars (uCars?)

The Pure Stocks were alright, of course if they had on track betting I would put $100 on Corbin every time he was at the track. The Limited Late Models were pretty rough, but it was a decent race, a few of the real quick drivers had bad luck. The SLM race was (as you can read) very exciting to say the least. Car counts were a little rough though, I expect them to be even more so this week with Winchester opening.

The most notable absence though was Keith Jackson, I expected him to be there.

        Thanks,
        Jeff.

Which is why I decided on Lincoln...At least, the 410 tracks understand that you run the premier division first and give the fans the opportunity to choose whether or not to stay for the support divisions...As always, it's just my opinion...

          Thanks,

Yeah, I can understand that for sure. I don't necessarily think first is required, but second at the very least. For me it was no big deal because those were the three divisions I would have stayed for anyway. My wife would have preferred that they ran the LLM and SLM and then we leave.. But I also like Pure Stocks.

When I was growing up in Maine all the tracks ran Pro Stocks (Asphalt SLM) last after all the (sometimes six) divisions. They would drag the show out and make sure that even if you were not planning on buying food that you had to in order to not starve to death.

I think the tracks in Central PA do a good job of catering to the fans, and by the looks of the crowd there last week the fans appreciate it.

            Thanks,
            Jeff.

I think if I had to compare the two incidents I would certainly consider the Hagerstown incident to be the worst. It was done last lap, last corner which allowed WA (who made a clean pass for the W) no opportunity to try to win the race afterward. In the Roberts situation at Screven he had a few laps to try to make the ground back up. The contact between Hardy and WA also certainly did more damage.

The retaliation was also of varying degrees of severity. Roberts cost Richards 35 points of a potentially very tight WoO points chase that pays $100,000. WA Spun Hardy after the race was over, doing very little addition damage and not costing Hardy money or points. If he wanted to "get even" like Roberts did he would have to speed down pit road and run into Hardy's car in tech, and then come back for a points race later in the season and take Hardy out again. Fortunately WA has a lot more common sense than Roberts does and made the decision to not put anyone else in danger and show his displeasure in turn 2 with walls separating both cars from any nearby people.

I've attached a screen shot showing how far back Hardy was right before the corner where he made the pass in question. The incidents are very (very) similar. In both cases it is just the nature of Late Model racing. Its how things are going to be and that is it. You are all downplaying this one and making a big deal out of the Richards incident just because you dislike Richards. That is fine, but don't act like someone is outright wrong because they have a different opinion. I just watched the same thing happen to the driver I was pulling for this weekend and when it happened I accept it. That is racing sometimes.

              Thanks,
              Jeff.
I see your point, being there and actually seeing it live and being at the scale house and seeing it live can't compare with what you saw on dirt on dirt and heard from several( your words) people.

My apologies for questioning the incident.

And as I have stated before........many times in conversations with you.......I am not a josh hater in any way.

His square headed mouthy father on the other hand is a whole different story.......

That's the way I saw it also! Lets hear Hardees reply when the favor gets repaid. I have a feeling he wont consider it a racin deal.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. If you see the video on DoD then you are likely just as informed or better informed than someone who saw it in person and did not see the video. If you see it both in person and on video you are no more informed than someone who just saw it on video.

For instance, I was at Hagerstown this Sunday and saw the whole thing unfold, but I've still watched the video multiple times. If you have also watched the video then I can assure you that those of us who were in attendance didn't see anything more than you have.

In terms of the incident at the scales, I am weighing what I heard from several people (there were quite a few people around) against what just you are saying (there were not many people around). Are you asking me to give more credibility to what you say than what other people whom I know better say?

I think you are one of the best posters on this site BBQ, but I have never met you in person and even if I had I don't know you well enough to give your view of something much more credibility than anybody else. Especially when it is in direct contradiction to someone whom I have met several times and talk to on a fairly regular basis during the racing season.

I'm not saying that Roberts is a reckless vigilante or anything, but I am saying to those complaining about WA retaliating that I would much rather have someone retaliate with nobody else around.

                  Thanks,
                  Jeff.

Well let's just say Apple doesn't fall far from the tree!!! 99v was pissed cause lapped car was gonna cost him the race.. He knew car wasn't gonna stick as far as he drove it into 3. Knew he was gonna use up 87 when he drove into 3.. 87 just spun him after race nobody but them two at harm... Know if 99v would of done that to a few other drivers 99v would be on a jig about now..

After watching the video a number of times here is my thoughts on the racing incident.. In short its just that a racing incident for the lead...

A few things i seen Hardy made two mistakes towards the end and arthur made one, first one for Hardy was getting messed up with the lap car to lose the lead, and then his last entry for the lead was a little out of control but thats what was needed for the win, could he have stuck the car a half of groove lower and gave a softer tap on arthur probably not giving the track conditions... As for Arthur he could of secured the win by moving down the track a groove in turn 3..

This is only my opinion of the video, but i think arthur might have overdriven turn 3 and lost to much side bite and was just getting ready to cut the exit on turn 4 (protect against the inside pass) and stay tight to the inside guiderail as Hardy made his move
All in all looked to be a very exciting opening race for Hagerstown, lets hope alot of tracks can have the smallest of incidents like this to excite the fans, thats way better than trashing cars to try and keep the fans coming back IMO

Again, fair enough ........but I'm going to assume that the folks you spoke too and have all of that faith in are completely unbiased and are not josh Richards fans???

I'm not really asking you to do anything except to understand the fact of me seeing what happened in person on the track, at the scales,on dod, speaking to the driver and team after ,knowing the drivers history and driving style , etc, etc, etc probably gives me a little better insight on it than you watching it on dod,and talking to a few ( most likely biased Richards fans).........

I'm a fan of most of your posts too and your are about as sensible as anyone on 4m, but like I've said before............we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one.

But in all honesty, and judging by the folks that were actually there and even the ones that weren't but saw it on dod............the overwhelming majority will and have said that josh dive bombed him and was his only chance to win that race..

Clearly we won't agree on this issue, but will and have on many others.

WA definitely owes that d!ck one. I don't like to race that way, BS. If you didn't like to race that way, you wouldn't. He's lucky WA just spun him, and then they DQued Arthur. Should start dqueing these aholes who think punting people for the win is acceptable.
Up in the air who my next “favorite” driver is. Really losing hope on Bloomer getting anywhere back to “normal”.

Arthur had a comfortable lead going into 3 and set the car as if it was a 1/4 mile track. Watch the Video. IMO, he didn't roll the corner with any speed. However, I will say that it's BS to DQ him for what took place after the race. Someone said earlier that he brought two cars, traveled 200 miles etc... I agree that a DQ was stupid and if anything it shows favoritism to the guy who point blank ran over him. Not to mention, the 99's car control was lacking the lap before anyway that further shows his inexperience. Walker is running all over the country and regardless of funding or not, he still supported the speedway by showing up running in 2 divisions. It was BS to DQ him.
