I have not heard anything about that, but it certainly would be a shame to lose such a great little track. I wouldn't be surprised though, I believe the owner passed over the winter. Not often you have someone within a family willing to step up and take on the kind of responsibility it takes to run a race track.

That track could be very profitable if they brought in the right divisions. Unfortunately running 358 Sprints is not the answer, especially not on Friday nights against Williams Grove. First of all they compete with the Grove for cars. Second of all they are competing for fans, and I know if I'm a Sprint Car fan and both tracks are $15 to get in I would definitely be going to Williams Grove to see 410s and 358s.

They need to bring in SLMs or LLMs weekly and have a few 410 races on Sundays when SSP isn't racing. That would certainly get me there on a regular basis. As of now I live a few minutes away and lucky to get there 2-3 times per season.

What division do you race at Lincoln?

I went to the Grove quite a bit in 2014, did your race there last year? Which car?

Also, this post on the WG board is stating that the rumor about Trail Ways is false. Great news, because that could be a spectacular track with the right divisions.

Trail Way is a spectacular track...The program that they run is a result of trying all sorts of divisions in the past and the current program they run is what they found works best for them...

By the way, I have an extremely hard time driving past the joint on a Friday night to go to the Grove...

I can't imagine that the track is very profitable as is. The crowds are not very great even on nights with no competition. The biggest crowd I saw all last season was the night they got 16 LLM. I was there for the 305/358 show as well as another regular 358 show. You can get there a half hour late and still get a seat along the top behind the flag stand.

Do you think there are many fans who feel the same way? For the same price you can see the biggest and best Sprint cars around and also see the same 358 division you would see at Trail Way (although likely more competitive than the Brad McClelland show at Trail Way). I think you will find the vast majority of Sprint Car fans will travel to Williams Grove rather than stop at Trail Way.

I myself only really make a point of going when they race Late Models, I only went to the non-LM shows last season because of rainouts elsewhere or working late and not having the time to go elsewhere.

Of the hundred times I've been to Williams Grove, I could count on one hand the number of really good, not great, races I've seen there...Watching Bad Brad on the bull ring=Amazing......Not to mention, saving two hours on the night in travel...

I will agree, he is one hell of a wheel man. But to be honest there is a small hand full of the drivers running at Trail Way weekly whom wouldn't be considered the JV for the Williams Grove 358s. A lot of young drivers seem to go through Trail Way onto greener, higher paying, less equipment wrecking pastures of 410 racing or Williams Grove.

I really like the track, but I think (as I posted on the WG Board) that they need to cater to a different group of fans. Competing just up the road from one of the most notable Sprint Car tracks in the country on the same night for the same price is not the way to bring in fans. They would have the same problem on Saturday too. I think going the SSP/Selinsgrove route and running 410/358 shows on Sundays and having a program that does not compete with WG for cars at all on Friday night would be the ticket.

The only LM competition they would have on Friday comes from Path Valley. There are not many of the Central PA cars running at Path. Trail Way has shown they can get good LM Car Counts and they sure put on a great show there.

I also think the 305s put on a great show at Trail Way, and they are a lot less expensive for the track to pay than 358s are.

The only way Trail Way would run the 305's is if they billed it as a demolition derby...Way too much skill required to run the bull ring than does the average 305 driver possess...

I think the last time I was at Trail Way for a show last year was the 358/305 night which had an average car count for the 358s and a full field of 305s. I know they sent a 358 through the fence in turns 3/4 and rolled another one in turns 1/2. I think there was one wreck in the 305 race in 1/2 also but they had a lot more cars.

I think some nights the 358s go green to checkers, but I've also seen a few 358 demolition derby's as well. The Late Models tend to be the same way, some weeks fine, others they are putting cars in the fence left and right.

I know the Thunder on the Farm Street Stock race started 12 or 13 cars and end with like 5 so its not just the top divisions.
