100 Late Models@Talladega This Weekend?

Could the total Late Model count top 100 Late Models this weekend during Talladega's Nascar weekend special? Friday night has a SLM special and the Nesmith Series plus the Steel Block Lates, maybe a combined 100 cars?

Saturday night the Nesmith National Series is joined with the Southern All Stars, can Randy Weaver win number 7 or 8 depending on his Cleveland finish?

I hope Nesmith gets 100 CLMs this weekend and Duck River gets very few. I've heard great things about Duck River, it is unfortunate that they had to make such an awful decision for their race this weekend.

They had their race this weekend scheduled as a Nesmith race up until a few weeks ago when they pulled the rug out and brought in the UCRA instead with just a few weeks notice. That is shady and should make sanction leery of dealing with the track.

Right or wrong, drawing 60+ cars for the first UCRA race there for half this weekend's purse will do that.

I didn't know that. :-/ hate to hear when tracks do that kinda stuff. Thanks Jeff for clearing that up for me. I know there will be plenty of cars at both tracks but wish they wouldn't do stuff like that. But has been going on since all these series started popping up and Prob will continue to happen. Good luck to both series this weekend.

Well, either way Duck River would have had more cars if they stuck with NeSmith. Now they kicked them out and Nesmith rescheduled at TST which will split the CLM division on the same weekend.

I generally do not wish bad luck on a track, but I truly hope that they get a low car count and Nesmith does very well. There is no place in this sport for stuff like that. Tracks and Series already struggle enough to make money. When stuff like this happens it makes things even more difficult.

There is quite a bit of conversation about this cancelling of the Nesmith deal at the Duck then going with UCRA. The UCRA deal is exciting, hope they do well up there as Bob Harris is a good guy. However, I am very excited about this 2-night deal at Talladega, qualifying money on tap and good Nesmith purses both nights, right in line as the Nesmith pay scale goes.

Part of the deal with the Duck deal is and has been known was the tire and license issue. Some participants don't want a 1 tire brand requirement and don't want to pay maybe a 1 time license fee.



Glad to see the autograph signing Dirt Crow will be in da house.
