Will the DTWC have the largest car count this year?

I think it will surpass the Eldora races this season and here's why. Track size. I feel there is a lot of drivers who skip out on Eldora because they know its a motor eater and if they don't have the power plant the big boys have they have no shot. I feel like the DTWC this year will be a big hit cause its a special race. they have never paid this kind of money for a race. The DTWC is scheduled at a perfect time where a lot of guys are itching to run one more time before end of season and a lot of teams use that as their last race. Plus PRP normally gets 30-35 latemodels on normal shows so there are a lot of racers that run there. I think it will have 115 latemodels there this year. Guysthat will show that haven't came regularly in the past include

Kevin Weaver
Donald McIntosh
Jared Miley
Austin Hubbard

I don't see Babb making the trip. Yes he's won the race in the past but he's been staying closer to home the last couple of years. It's been a few years since he's been to the DTWC if I'm not mistaking.

they should've taken the extra $ and distribute thru the field..imo the payoff for the dtwc is not that great..lot of guys run 100 laps for 3 grand and less..50 to win and 5 to start..then you could talk 120+ cars.

Exactly what I said. Paying back through the field and start money is what brings more cars in. Scott James said it best last year after he won the Dunn race, he was taking the money and heading home, cuz he would burn up 3k in equipment during a 100 lap race.

No, it won't surpass the World 100. They added 50k to the top. If they didn't add it anywhere else, it's of no benefit. You wanna increase car count, $50 k to win, 3500-4000 to start. This is just PR hoopla. Never understood this logic anyhow. A pay out like the Show Me USED TO BE, is what you should shoot for. Then you'll get cars.

I think this was $50,000 wasted. We are just going to pay a higher ticket price to see the same thing. It's probably going to pull the same exact drivers that $50,000 to win did. The drivers that know they have a shot at the $100,000 were already at this race.

If he wanted to add hype and cars he should have just taken the extra purse money and made it $5,000 to start . That would draw more cars and more hype than anything. For some guys just being able to make the race would result in their biggest paychecks ever. Only one person gets $100,000 and most guys know they have no shot at all of winning.

Somebody brought up Casey Roberts. There's two Ultimate shows at Cochran that weekend paying $4,000 to win each. Chances are he wins one runs top three in the other. Brings home roughly $6,000. He'd have to run top four or five with the old DTWC payout for the same $$$. Add in the other additional travel costs, and it does not make much sense for a guy to pull up there. It's Lucas sanctioned so their guys will be there no matter how much it pays. He's spending 50k to get a couple of more names, and may actually see his car count decrease.

That's NOT bad .Fans would be either unwilling or unable to pay the ticket prices associated with this wet dream you guys have of a race paying 100k to win and only dropping a 1000 a spot down to 24 ... Reading is fundamental. I don't think that anyone is saying putting an extra $50,000 in the purse is a bad thing. It's just not that smart when it's all up top.

And as usual, you took what we all said and went crazy. Don't put that extra fifty at the top. You wanna add 50k, have at it. Put it throughout the ENTIRE field, not for Dolly Parton. They wanna draw more cars etc, not going to happen with this payout. They have a much better location than West Plains, you wanna throw more money at a race, do it how they did.

The same people for 50k is the same people for 100k

121 Cars at the WORLD last year, and with Earl's passing this spring I would imagine the WORLD 100 will be the biggest Dirt Late Model race of the year.. Car count included

What a total idiot. If it wasn't for Carl purses would be nowhere close to what they are now.
Earl gets all the credit for being the great innovator. For starting the big purses. Nobody ever says boy that Earl pays or now I guess I should say paid Dolly Parton purses.

Well here's a little secret. Earl didn't start the big purses Carl did. Carl and the DTWC paid $30,000 to win while the Worlds 100 was only paying $14,000 to win. Carl and the DTWC were paying $50,000
to win while the Worlds 100 was only paying $16,000 to win. Oh and the DTWC was paying a thousand to start when the Worlds 100 was only paying $100 to start. But you cut Carl down and say he pays Dolly Parton purses? You're an idiot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
