Some of that B-tier regional talent can pull off a major upset at some of these events. As said earlier, some of those guys will stay at regional shows that weekend because their odds of breaking even or making money are better. If the $50k was used to increase the start money or the non-qualifiers race, you would see more of those guys show up. Fans love an upset. That's how drivers become A-tier. Remember Lanigan wasn't that well know until he won the DTWC. $100,000 has been done before, so its not like it has the WOW factor of being the first time.

I personally don't expect any real increase in car count with the extra cash, i do actually see more of an increase in the sales at the main gate end of the track, given the perception of an even bigger race.

If some company or business wanted to support this race, and does any research about DTWC or any other dirt late model race. Does anyone believe the negative attitude on this site and others, that it will help the sport. The DTWC is a special race and second biggest race in Dirt late model racing. The World 100 is 1st.
By the way, has anyone seen the purse structure for DTWC? Also Carl did not even have to increase the purse, but he has. So to Carl and other promoters thank you for doing the best job you can and keeping dirt late model racing alive.

It's an opinion based site. No one said Carl is stupid or that we aren't going to support this race. We just don't agree with Dolly Parton purses. And the payout will be the same as the last 30+ DTWC's, Dolly Partonish. And if anyone takes most of what we say and makes a decision for theirself based on that, they aren't very smart.

$60 is a good deal on tickets. I'd pay $75 if he'd put it towards the purse. Not the top part.

i understand the top heavy argument, but i don't think he added it to bring in more cars. He will get a few outlaws drivers that probably weren't there last year. But $100,000 to win looks good on the posters and flyers, i think its more to bring in more fans and get more attention. I am just glad i live in ohio, home of the world 100, the dream, and the dtwc. Also home of the kings royal, and hell tour finale. And (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) close to the north/south and the firecracker. I love this time of year. And i don't care what they pay the guy that finishes 14th.
