Fairbury July 11th POWRi/Late Models/Modifieds Cacelled Again This Year

For the second year in a row Fairbury is hit with rain and is forced to cancel the POWRi National Midget show.

FALS website says they will be attempting to reschedule.

I'll believe that when I see it.

Well I don't think it will be for a lack of trying but, might be a scheduling nightmare for the powrI. I was so looking forward to this race. Didn't know a couple of days ago if I was going to make but, it turns out I was but then the rain.

Can't do much about Mother Nature. It's pouring again here in Pontiac, not far from Fairbury, and looks like alot more coming. Good call as far as I'm concerned.
As far as rescheduling, I believe the Powri guys have a pretty aggressive schedule, might be hard to find a different night.

According to the Fairbury Facebook page they were mindful of this being the 2nd year in a row that this event has been washed out and waited until there was no other alternative but to cancel. That's a double edged sword in that they've got teams and spectators coming from a distance that were already at the track, or at least they were on the road but at the same time they wanted to exhaust all possibilities of getting the show in. The folks at FALS were in a no-win situation, for sure. They knew there were a lot of folks looking forward to this event, too. Luckily we live close enough to Fairbury that they called it before we had left home.

In addition to POWRi's full schedule Fairbury doesn't seem to have any dates left this season they can feasibly accommodate the POWRi guys. Maybe they can work something out. Hope so.
