The so called knucklehead, as you put it is Nick Latham,and Pierce deserved what took place.(a slide job,that Pierce didn"t clear) and as you say he got punted.

I sometimes wonder what race some people watch. Pierce had him cleared or he would have punted him in the right quarter instead of the left. In reality Latham, didn't clear Pierce on the cross over move. The misjudged cross over is excusable, but driving threw him is not. These guys where in a hole and going for it. Stuff happens.

Not sure what race YOU watched. The damage was ALL on the RIGHT rear quarter. There was NO crossover. He had no time to. Show me where you see ANY damage to Pierce's left side from Latham. It's plain as day on DoD video. Latham was on the top and Pierce slid up in front of him. Nowhere for Latham to go.

I'm not even saying it was anything "dirty" on Pierce's part. He just pushed too much and got the short end. I don't see any fault on the part of Latham. I guess he maybe could have jumped on the binders, but then there would have been just as many, if not more cars wadded up.
