Ross Bailes Statement from his Facebook Page:
After last night's unfortunate incident at Carolina Speedway, I personally felt the need to address what transpired. First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who came out to support the event. The Shrine 100 is a very prestigious race and I am pleased to see the growing support for such a worthwhile cause.
In regards to last night's race, we had a very strong race car. As most of you already know by now, we were fortunate enough to qualify 2nd, get the race lead, and appeared to be on our way to a very strong finish.....and quite possibly a victory. However, an unfortunate incident with another driver occurred while we were working through lap traffic. That incident immediately ended our night and the chance to deliver our sponsors and fans a victory. What happened after this misfortune, is what I personally need to address.
To say that I was frustrated after having a potential victory taken away from me last night is a huge understatement. What made things even worse is that this marks this 2nd time this season that I've crossed this bridge with the same driver. While I have no remorse for my passion and emotions, I do want to apologize for the way that I chose to express them. It goes without saying that we all work very hard on our race cars. We take time away from our families and make many other sacrifices that many people never see or hear of. To have all of our hard work simply stripped away from us on multiple occasions is unacceptable. However, I hold myself to a higher standard and last night's reaction was not the way that I or my team want to represent the marketing partners and fans that support us.
With that said, I thank everyone who supports myself, our team, Carolina Speedway, and dirt late model racing. Congratulations to Chris Ferguson on the CFM team on their Shrine 100 victory. As for us, we will move forward together as a team and hold ourselves to an even higher standard without sacrificing the work ethic and passion that our family, friends, and sponsors are accustomed to.

I heard someone cut all of the tires on Godwins hauller, that is chicken $hit right there. I hope they catch the culprit but I sit at the top of turn 1 every night at Carolina and Ross did that to himself. Kevin could have only heard him for a second before he was slammed on the drivers side, just saying. I was pulling for the Clover boys Lill Johnny and Bailes. Leonard

What you don't see is the G2 getting lapped every 3-4 laps & staying in the racing grove each time. Clash uses racecievers yet he stays in the racing groove. What you also don't see is the G2 doing this everywhere he goes. He shows up for these super shows & isn't fast enough to qualify top 10 in the 604 crate class. I understand he paid his money but when you are a weapon every time you race then this stuff is going to happen. Clash should have parked him but then again that series is going down fast.
I agree No excuse for the tire deal but I have to disagree with poolcue. When you are turning laps 4-5 seconds quicker than a lapped car that can't make the same lap twice you have to guess & he guessed wrong. If he slows & waits for g2 to get out of the grove then Fergy has run off 2 & is gone.
Also not first time g2 has caused a crash while getting lappedLast edited by toyracer; 08-14-2015, 09:44 PM.
