Maybe Josh is lucky Clanton isn't running as good as he was at the first of the year?? Or as one poster said, Clanton may be just being easy on his equipment with the big lead. Last weekend two of those races were hard on equipment track conditions!! Some (well most) don't have all the resources as the 1car. Even wth Josh's streak, Clanton is easily keeping his point lead. He's running good and sticking with Josh. It's not like Josh has cut into that pts lead a lot. Clanton deserves the title, no matter how Josh finishes the year.

Not taking anything away from Clanton he has had a great season and deserves to be the Champion. All I said was Clanton should be glad Josh wasn't running earlier like he is now. And as well as I know Shane he would admit to that.Originally posted by mud duck View PostMaybe Josh is lucky Clanton isn't running as good as he was at the first of the year?? Any good chassis builder is not going to give u there secret to winning no matter who the builder is. They will give you a winning set ups. Think about it if you were the builder why would you give the win away.THE REAL SLIDING SIDEWAYS!

I understand the KFC analogy, but who buys anything that they can't get to work right???
Sometimes people need help with stuff whether it's dlm chassis, swing sets,or a new modem.
Tech help is important , it's a deciding factor in a lot of buying decisions.EVERYBODY HAS A GAME PLAN, UNTIL THEY GET PUNCHED IN THE FACE.......M.T

But the main goal is still to win. It's competitive nature that you're just not going to give out all your secrets. I agree, tech help, customer service is big, and obviously Mark has fell behind. And when Josh wasn't running good no point in giving that help to TMac. With Josh running good now, I'd think TMac should start improving. At least I hope so.Originally posted by Okfine View PostI would happily give away 50 k worth of winning purse money to help sell a million dollars worth of chassis and tshirts.

Yes but you can still give them tech support w winning setups and they have to figure out what setup works best for there style and tweek it from there.THE REAL SLIDING SIDEWAYS!

My step dad purchased a rocket brand new several years ago. He picked it up at the rocket headquarters in W.V. I know that they gave him folder with like basicsetups. But if you wanted more info. You had to got Rocket headquarters and pay for classes on setups. I would think after paying that much on a chassis. You would have full support on everything. Thats just my own opinion. Rick but a D instead of R Taylor drove my step dads car. If your from Illinois? You may have heard of him.Last edited by Dirt Racing #1; 08-27-2015, 07:06 PM.

I agree.. people say great drivers can win in any chassis, bs. Look at shannon from longhorn to club. Marlar from rocket to long horn to rocket until his capital was done they both looking great in their new chassis. Eckert looking good so far in his change of chassis . If they truely cant understand that chassis or someone on their crew, they wont be consistant. Tmac is not consistantly in top 5 or 10. He runs good one night then bad next night. That tells me his crew and him dont understand rocket chassis set up. How much testing does he do during the week to understand rocket chassis set up? He needs find someone that understands rocket chassis so when he tells them it needs be adjust to him and the track they can make it happen with eas. Or modify the chassis to fit him and easier to adjust to consistantly running up front. Like jimmy owns said he cant bet jd or scott if the cant be consistantly running strong in top 3 or 5. Maybe he needs stay with rocket chassis reach out get someone his team that really knows rocket chassis knowing its limit. It might be the chassis for him.. but if him or his crew get a new chassis longhorn, B.D./club, capital, ect. And cant learn the chassis set up easily he wont be a true factor. But that jmo thoOriginally posted by onlyfacts View PostI was at the WOO races this past weekend. McCreadie started 23rd and ran 4th was battling 6for the 2nd on Friday. So his car must be something. The big difference today is the teams ability to adjust and be prepared to race. Walking around the 39 car over the weekend it is easy to see where the shortfalls are and it is more than a chassis. Eddie Carrier ran 2nd on Friday and McCreadie was 4th. The Longhorn camp wasn't in the top 5. And they were well represented Eckert, Frank and Ferguson. On Saturday Jared Hawkins ran with Josh for 15-20 laps and finish a close 3rd to Clanton. Hawkins is a great driver that is a regional racer and does not have the funding like a team like McCreadies. He took the same chassis as McCreadie a WOO star and ran 3rd. RJ Conley finished 5th in a Rocket on Saturday. And again no Longhorns in the top 5. Then I traveled up to Erie and while walking around the pit area I was talking to a crew guy on Mike Knights team. He proceeded to tell me that they are struggling with their new Longhorn. Knight has been in Rockets for years and always has been competitive at the bigger races over the past few years. But on Sunday he was a non factor in a Longhorn. David Scott was another local in a Longhorn that has always been competitive when I have watched him at the bigger races in the past with Rocket cars. Again he was a non factor. Richards did stink up the show but it wasn't a complete run away Richards and Clanton put on a great race for about 15-20 laps. And Chub in his Lognhorn at one of his home tracks where he cut his teeth finish a distance 4th after starting 4th. He was battling Max Blair in a Rocket who started back a ways. Guess what I got out of the weekend was Chub isn't much better than he was, McCreadies whole program doesn't look to be clicking because he is a great driver that could'nt run as well as a regional racer in the same chassis with less funding, Eckert is about the same as he was last year and Clanton should be glad that Josh wasn't running all season like he is now.Last edited by Kwd1253; 08-27-2015, 07:56 PM.

The 22 has probably the best rocket guy out there wrenching on it and the new gen rocket ain't working too well !! Just sayin' !!!!Originally posted by Josh Bayko View PostHe's always been like that.
As for his current problem. I'm not so sure it's the cars themselves, but it's more who's turning the wrenches on them cars.

A good driver can't win in anything. There is a big difference between a good driver and a good driver that knows what works on a car and what don't. The few drivers that can win in anything, could design and build that car. They don't rely on information from the house car. These few are usually the ones, that everyone s working harder to catch up.

T-Mac would be as much of a non-factor in a Longhorn as he is in a Rocket. The problem is certainly deeper than that. Josh isn't in the only Rocket nationwide that is running well. If other, less funded people can make them go then you can't say it is the chassis fault. Shirley, Miley, Hawkins, Spence, Hollidge, etc. have all wheeled Rockets to $3,000+ wins in the past few weeks (that is just off the top of my head). There have also been some big wins without Josh behind the wheel from Carrier, B. Shepp and even T-Mac himself.Last edited by W2Racing09; 08-28-2015, 07:32 AM.

TMac is running against a little better competition on a nightly basis than the guys you listed W2. If he was running his Rocket against them, I'd say he'd have better results. The point was it appears he's not getting the help from Mark since Josh is starting to run so good and he's still struggling. You don't lose longtime customers like Chub without a reason. On the WoO, TMac should be around or in the top five every night. I don't believe the injury sustained a few years back is the reason. I might be wrong. But, I see the same sort of thing that Chub referred to in his interview. JMO
