Anger issue at Eriez Speedway?

It was said that a racer turned his late model around to drive in the opposite direction and ran over 2003 Pittsburgher 100 Champion Matt Urban. Anybody have the skinny on this? Any pics or video ? Urban always seemed to be a smooth clean driver anytime we saw him race. Thanks

Doug Eck got pissed off and ran up Urban's nose. It's not the first time Eck has done something like that it certainly won't be the last, but it won't happen at Eriez until at least 2017. He was suspended the rest of this season and all of next season.

We're unfortunately seeing more and more of this lately. It used to be a guy would get ticked and wrinkle your quarter panel. Now guys are quite honestly committing crimes with their cars as weapons. I've also thought of this from a track owners perspective (hypothetically speaking). If you act egregiously at a track down the road from mine, I'm banning you as well because you're just gonna bring that stuff to my place...and I don't need the headache.

You would have thought he'd learned a lesson after Sarver and crew knocked Eck on his azz at Lernerville after they got fed up with his ignorance on the track. Guess he needs a few more "lessons"....

My cousin from up that way called a little bit ago. He said that people call him Doug Wreck and Doug Wrecked Um. He gets BOOS a plenty at some tracks I was told.

Agreed an asphalt late model driver got kicked out of his home track he was a nascar champion at. Went to the next track it took 4 weeks before he got kicked out of there lol.

If its me I'm calling the driver saying hey, don't bother loading it up for my track. Or when he pulls in, here's tow money have a good night in the stands or head home

There was driver in the northeast that got banned at tracks he never even raced at after getting banned at another track.. Honestly.. All the tracks in the area need to take a stand and park this clown Eck before he starts doing this same crap at other tracks..

I know who you're talking about, and it was a long time coming. The last time he had those sorts of issues, he threatened to move south and go crate late model racing.

I know that there was a hooligan minded driver with the same number as 6 time CUP Champion that was banned from several regional tracks because every time he and or his father went Smoke on a driver they were escorted off of the tracks and had to serve a set predetermined suspension time. They felt that they were angry control freaks that everyone should bow to. Evidently Mr.(or should we even honor him by giving the title Mr.?) Eck was allowed by the possibly interim management of the well known racing Scott family to race at the famous Stateline Speedway this past weekend. Knowing Jim Scott he most likely told him he better toe the line or get booted the heck out of there for life as Chub Franks dad and uncles did with a driver that threw gasoline on a another drivers car and burned it to the ground because by them not being able to get around that 1 car in the last point race caused the team to lose the points championship. Eck finished 12 this weekend and if I am correct in what I heard a casual local racer by the name of Mike Knight finished 2nd in a Longhorn framed unit to add a Longhorn dominated weekend.
