I think dividing in 2 before qualifying would be fine. Then line up the 6 heats for each group based on time. The problem comes from the small groups (9 cars) generated before qualifying.

Bloomer used to be accused of sandbagging qualifying.

This format is even easier for him to game and he certainly does it. If you have a top 6 average finish, you know you are getting inverted back. No reason to win both nights unless you want the cash.

You gotta feel for Bshep! He just hasn't learned yet, how to play the invert game! I bet next year, it will be different for him!

What we didn't think was fair was Moyer and heckenest made the invert for the heats, but did not even make one of the features. Even frankie said he thought he was not in and was surprised when dustin told him.

I always take a beating on here because of my whining about handicapping garbage, whether its: any type of inverts , passing points system or average finish multiple heats. its a fine line what's fair to the drivers and trying to put on a best show for the fans IMO. FOR ONE, who can keep up with any of the passing point system? please tell me someone in the stands can keep up with who made it in and who's still out of the feature with passing points, pretty laughable to argue almost all the fans do. there is always threads on here days after as to why one driver made it in and one driver didn't, for any given points passing or average finish for multiple heats. I always hear this with inverts on here " well if your car is fast you should make it in anyway". I always wondered why should a team be punished for being prepared and showing up with a fast car? as to say you need inverts in todays racing with how close these cars are in speed and technology, maybe inverts where great when 2-3 cars would stink up a race at the local yokel track back in the day but not today at the highest levels of dirt late model racing IMO. I guess I'm in the minority here, I just don't need gimmicks, handicapping, or other stunts to watch dirt late model racing. I love sports because of competition and athleticism of the athletes and the best team or man wins.

For once, I 100% agree with you Izzo. I thought in racing, you are supposed to be the fastest in qualifying, heat race, and feature. That's what every driver, owner, and crew member strives for. Not to be penalized because a bunch of whiners and complainers aren't smart enough or have enough talent to be the best for that particular race!

If you see enough passing point races. You can usually figure out who did what. I keep track all the time at races. Can usually nail down the first couple of rows. Luckily with modern technology series can pump out the starting lineups almost instantly.

I do keep a cheat sheet handy, however.

So would you change the format?

Been saying this for years.......big league racing doesn't need inverts, spinning wheels or rolls of the dice to determine the winners or starting positions.....Knoxville maybe the most fair of all even though the heats for both nights are inverted.

I like the idea of if you win a thurs or fri night feature youre in on sat for the World......would make for even better racing in those 4 features.....since fastest qualifiers provisionals are all about being out there early to qualify when the track is wet and fast I say drop that...JMO

I am certainly not a fan of this format and if you listened to many of the drivers in the their post race interviews many of them expressed the same opinion. Slack sells the format on how important racing is in Thursday and Friday while we have all agreed many play the invert. Scott's amazing 8th place finish after a late restart when he was running up front and starting on the front row of his heat should be proof enough. My biggest issue as many of you have stated these are the best programs in the country not your local track where they use an inversion to make it fun for the fans because not all the competition is up to par. This was the World 100 a majority of the guys are contenders to win. I see zero reason for an inversion. How great would the entire weekend of racing be if everyone was fighting for that front row in their heat with a strong finish both nights.
