Why do they keep that 1/4 acre? Sell it to the state and be done with that mess.

The state didnt want that 1/4 acre they just wanted the rest. I have told them just dont pay it, what are the going to do?

ACE96 is right, there is more to this story. I will say this, the reason it went to court, is because they were not going to get paid as much as what they thought they were when they bought it. This I69 thing did not just come up. It's been in the works for a long time.

These guys are businessmen. They probably didn't get where they are by losing $$$. They supposedly paid less than a million for 400 acres give or take close to the Interstate. They are going to receive $510,000.00 for 36 acres. That is a good chunk of change and also leaves several acres to develop, sell off if they wish. The stands can be sold, the heavy equipment, generator etc. Something tells me in the long run the owners will be ok. I'm sure they knew about this situation on the day of the auction.

If they want rid of it just don't pay the taxes and let it go. They could have some fun with it though and put some kind of attention getter on it.

I believe that there is plenty of room to move the pits and so forth over to the truck stop side of the track. ( turn 3 & 4) The maintenance part as well as generator for the lights and electric.I rememberbeing there when the Greers opened the place and thinking how smart to save on bills with the generators. Should not be any problems with doing this. Really need to look at getting some Mississippi or Iowa,Indiana or Illlinois black dirt and lots of it.
